T-shirt Thursday: Gray Dungeons & Dragons Demi Lich T-shirt

I went to the local Walmart's on Tuesday in hopes of finding Halloween t-shirts on sale. No luck because they were all replaced by Christmas t-shirts. I did find this Gray Dungeons & Dragons Demi Lich T-shirt. This one is unusual for me for it's not black or white. Also, the Dungeons & Dragons logo is on the front while the graphic is on the back. The price was $12.98 and I grabbed the only 2XL they had. In a way, you could call this a Halloween fantasy t-shirt since it has a skull on it.

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 30: Scream Queens 3 Trading Cards Trio

My one big Halloween purchase this year was a set of sixty Scream Queens 3 trading cards. This is not based on the 2015 tv series but on the magazine that lasted from 1993 to 2002. It was also known as Scream Queens Illustrated and mostly featured b-movie actresses mostly from horror movies in stages of undress. It seems fitting that I present three trading cards from the set as the last Women's Wednesday post for this Halloween. Brinke Stevens is a sexy vampire on #7 while Deborah Dutch appears with a skull on #9. Finally, #50 features Jeanie Brown playing cards with a skeleton.

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 18: Halloween at SuperCity

I have been playing a lot of SuperCity on Facebook this week. I created an area on the City Center map devoted to Halloween. There are haunted houses, ghosts, skulls, pumpkins, spooky lights and more. This is what the area looked like on my first attempt:

I won a lot of Halloween decorations and buildings while playing the airship event at SuperCity Islands that I had to expand the area:

SuperCity can be a little tedious at times but there are always special events around the holidays. Around Thanksgiving, I might scatter the Halloween decorations and buildings in either the Highlands or Enchanted Forest map and then create a Christmas area on the Snow Plateau map

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 5: Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1

Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1 (October 2024) published by Valiant and Alien Books is a first for me. I have read a handful of the comics produced by the original Valiant but I have never read an issue of Shadowman before. I always thought he looked a little like a cross between the Black Terror and the Phantom. This cover shows him with a couple of skulls and this issue is a Resurgence of the Valiant Universe tie-in. Jack Boniface aka Shadowman is joined by his mentor and partner, Alyssa Myles, along with occult expert, Doctor Mirage, and the voodoo priestess, Punk Mambo. Be warned that there is some female nudity even though there is no warning on the cover. There is a flashback scene where Jack recounts how he was the Magpie before becoming the Shadowman. There's another Magpie running around now in New Orleans along with Golems that are part magic and part machine. Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1 is a pretty good start and I'm looking to reading next month's issue.

WWE SuperCard Day of the Dead Cards

Today is not only All Saints Day but it's also Dia de los Muertos, which is Spanish for Day of the Dead. The actual celebration lasts from October 31st to November 2nd. In addition to the Halloween cards that I have been getting while playing WWE SuperCard on Facebook during October, I have also been getting Day of the Dead cards. I got a total of eight cards but I'm only showing the women wrestlers today because they are my favorites. They all have their faces painted up to look like skulls and there are skulls in three of the corners with flowers in one corner.

Countdown to Halloween 2021 Day 22: Hot Wheels Halloween 2021 #1: '33 Ford Lo Boy

The only Hot Wheels Halloween 2021 diecast car that I found this year at the local Dillons store was the '33 Ford Lo Boy. This is number one in a set of five and I'm surprised that I couldn't find any of the others in the set. This year's theme is Day of the Dead so there are plenty of skulls to be found. In fact, the wheels have red skulls in a red circle on them. The body of the car is metallic green and the interior is red. I really like the artwork on the card that features a skeleton driving the '33 Ford Lo Boy against the '76 Camero SS, which is the fifth car in the set. The other cars in the set include'71 Maverick Grabber, '74 Corvette Stingray and King Kuda. The only place to pick up the Hot Wheels Halloween cars is at the Kroger stores.

Here is a close up shot of the '33 Ford Lo Boy still in the blister pack:

I decided to add a picture that I found online with the diecast car out of the package to give you a better look at the amazing paint job:

Countdown to Halloween 2021 Day 11: Dia De Muertos Pop-Tarts

I actually finished off a box of the Dia De Muertos Pop-Tarts the first week of October. I should of saved them for November 1st, which is the traditional Day of the Dead, but I didn't think they were going to be so tasty. They are frosted chocolatey churro flavored Pop-Tarts with nine different designs inked on the frosting. The flavor is not real strong and taste more like cinnamon brown sugar. I didn't get all nine designs in one box of sixteen and I might pick up another box if they are still on the shelves of the local Walmart's. The most common design seems to be the flowery skull and the Dia De Muertos banner. I would have liked the back of the box to show all nine designs instead of just four.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 26: Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels 2020 Set

I was lucky enough to pick up all six die-cast cars in the Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels 2020 set last week at the local Dillons store. They are a bit higher price at $1.99 but it was worth actually getting a whole set for a change. In the past, I usually find one or two in the set. I really like the card artwork, which depicts a ghost chasing two cars. There is even a building with a Jack O'Lantern face in the upper left-hand corner.

Epic Fast is the first car in the set and it has skulls on the wheels:

The second car in the set is Twinduction and it features a horned demon on the sides plus skull on the wheels:

Twinduction is Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels 2020 #2

Hover & Out is the third car in the set and reminds me of a hovercar:

The fourth car in the set is Night Burner and is a mostly orange one with the top design that reminds me of an oven burner:

Night Burner is Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels 2020 #4

HW Poppa Wheelie is the fifth car in the set that is a green machine with the front end high in the air along with eyeballs on the sides and hood:

The sixth and last car of the Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels 2020 set is Super Stinger that not only has skulls on the wheels but also glow in the dark (this is my favorite one):

Super Stinger is Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels #6

Here is what the back of the card looks like (yes, the copyright year is 2019):

I must apologize about the quality of the above pictures. The pictures either came out too bright or too dark. I probably could of gotten better pictures of the die-cast cars out of the package but I don't want to open them. Here is a photo of the Kroger Halloween Hot Wheels 2020 set that I found online to give you a better look at the cars:

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 18: 3D Halloween Erasers

I have always loved 3D erasers ever since I was kid. You didn't dare try to erase with them but they were fun to put on pencil tops. Unfortunately, the ones I had didn't stand the test of time and were either lost or tossed when they broke. In 2014, I posted about the Halloween Erasers that I picked up at the local Dollar General. I picked up these 3D Halloween Erasers from the local Dollar Tree. The five erasers include an orange pumpkin, a fat black bat, a purple skull, a green owl and a blue skull. They kind of cheated by having two skulls but at least they are different colors. They are also made in China under the Premiere label (the back shows that they were distributed by Greensbier International, Inc. aka Dollar Tree).

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 9: Pir Figurine

This Pir figurine is another one that I picked up at the local Dollar General. He has his black robe open to show off his bony figure while sitting on a tombstone. He is playing with a piece of chain with a shackle on one end. There is a pile of skulls near his own marker and he has his bony feet resting on one of them. A ghost kid is begging him to tell the story of how he died while escaping a chain gang in the Louisiana swamp. I don't think the kid is all there since he is always smiling when he is around Pir.  Maybe it's because he knows that he is not resting in peace either but haunting the local graveyard.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 8: Rip Figurine

Meet Rip, a figurine that I picked up at Dollar General and has to be one of the most interesting one that I picked up this year. The skeleton is still wearing the suit he was buried in. From the looks of his hat and tie, he appears to have died in the late 1800s. He's sitting on a tomstone with one foot on his own marker. His companion is Jack, a pumpkin that always grin no matter what situation they face. He has a lot of tales to tell including the one that the skull next to his other foot told him.

T-shirt Tuesday: Grim Reaper with Skulls T-shirt

I had to toss my classic Superman blue t-shirt out last week due to a couple of holes that were getting bigger. I went to Walmart's earlier to shop for a new one but they didn't have any in stock. Instead, I found this t-shirt with the Grim Reaper sitting on his skull throne for only three dollars. Seems appropriate considering what's going on in the world now.
