Super Sunday: DC's Kal-El-Fornia Love Special

DC released DC's Kal-El-Fornia Love one shot summer special last week. The cover features Superman, Lois Lane, Superboy, Supergirl, Power Girl and other members of the Super Family.

Here's the official summery: "Brighter than a Hollywood star, more powerful than Silicon Valley tech, able to leap tall redwood trees in a single bound… it’s DC’s Kal-El-fornia love! The whole Super-Family is hitting the road in a series of action-packed adventures across the great state of California. Supergirl’s day at the beach is interrupted by a demonic creature from the deep and John Constantine! Jon and Conner Kent team up to wrangle an escaped beast in the Redwoods! Bizarro (literally) crashes an audition for a major motion picture! And join Superman and Lois as a kaiju from the Pacific Ocean comes for their family vacation! The Summer of Superman is heating up, so slather on some sunscreen and snag your latest beach read!"

There are eight stories within this anthology special that includes the following: Superman in "See Spot Fly", Jimmy Olsen in "The Gorilla Ex-Wife of Jimmy Olsen", Power Girl in "Before Sunrise" (Ice guest stars), Bizarro in "Against the Wind" (guest starring Green Lantern Guy Gardner), Lois Lane in "Bite the Apple" (Wonder Woman briefly appears), Steel in "Across the Room", the Superboys (Conner Kent and Jon Kent) in "Who Do You Belong To", and Supergirl in "Something in the Water" (special team up with John Constantine).

Women Wednesday: Power Girl #20

DC Comics released Power Girl #20 (2025) today and it's the final issue of that series. Karen Starr has triumphantly returned to Metropolis. But there’s a problem… the person using that alias isn’t Power Girl! Paige can’t just stand by as this new Karen gets involved in ventures and schemes she would never dream of. It’s up to her to expose this imposter before they ruin her reputation for good!

Women Wednesday: Power Girl #17 Cover

Power Girl #17 is out today from DC Comics and she gets a costume change. Her boob window is now in the shape of the Superman shield. Also on the cover is Streaky the supercat, Natasha Irons aka Steel and Lilith Clay aka Omen.

Women Wednesday: Power Girl #1 (2023) Cover

I think Power Girl and Wonder Woman are trying to catch up with Supergirl for how many series reboots they can get. This one hits the newsstands today and her secret identity is Dr. Paige Stetler. She also gets a costume change by wearing a jacket that covers up her boob window. Oh, Omen also appears, and Superman shows up at the end much to the surprise of no one.

The New Golden Age Ad

Geoff Johns is bringing back the Golden Age of DC Comics in a one-shot special called The New Golden Age coming out on November 8, 2022. This will lead to a new Justice Society of America title and Stargirl: The Lost Children. The new JSA team will consist of Hawkman, Flash (Jay Garrick), Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Dr. Fate, Huntress (Helena Wayne), Power Girl, Wildcat (Yolanda Montez), Dr. Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel), Jakeem and Thunderbolt. I can't wait for the one-shot special and the new titles.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 4: DCeased #3 Cover

The cover of DCeased #3 features Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman fighting a horde of zombies (the latter kind of looks like he may be using his heat vision against a zombified Power Girl). Harley Quinn blows away a zombified Joker in this issue.

Fall Catchup

Today is the first full day of fall so I thought I better do some catching up.

First off, I will be partaking in this year's Countdown To Halloween. I'm not sure if I will be making daily posts this time around but I will try. Also, the posts may be of a little different this year.

The local Wally World has stocked a few boxes of DC Pops figurines from Funko and I have picked up eight of them. So far, I have two Deadshots, a Lex Luthor, a Martian Manhunter, a Batman, a Green Lantern, a White Lantern and a Power Girl. I like them and I will probably be picking up some more when I can. I really want the Wonder Woman one.

Women Wednesday: Power Girl vs Wonder Woman

The only reason to pick up Convergence: Action Comics #2 (July 2015) is for the pre-Crisis Earth 2 Power Girl vs Earth 30 Wonder Woman. The cover is great since it features both women duking it out:
The battle actually began when the Russian Amazon in a jet attacked the Kyptonian beauty. Of course, the latter ripped off one of the wings causing the former to bail out:
Kara takes Diana's boot to the face:
The Russian Amazon takes a right:
But she then uses her lasso for some serious swinging:
Leave it to Earth 2 pre-Crisis Superman to hit the Russian Wonder Woman:
Power Girl is ready for another round but her cousin puts an end to this super catfight:
The trio then heads off to stop Stalin and Lex Luthor from launching missiles in Moscow. They also dispatch some giant G.I. Robots.

Convergence: Action Comics #1

The cover of Convergence: Action Comics #1 (June 2015) features Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman and Superman from Earth 30 (the official home of characters in the Superman: Red Son mini-series) along with Superman, Power Girl and Lois Lane from pre-Crisis Earth 2. The story actually switches back and forth between Moscow and Metropolis.

My favorite part of this issue is Power Girl. She has been shacking up with Andrew for the past year while under the dome. The loss of her superpowers has not been kind to her since she is gaining weight and having health issues that we all have. She flashbacks to her glory days of fighting the likes of the Ultra-Humanite and Solomon Grundy:

I have always been a fan of the pre-Crisis Earth 2 so this is one of my favorite issues in the Convergence event. I wish all of the other issues would have switched back and forth between the two cities that are going to do battle with each other.

Power Girl's New Costume

Yep, Power Girl's Boob Window Gets Get Closed in a New Costume is sad news for cleavage fans:
Power Girl and the Huntress in World's Finest
However, I do love the artwork by George Perez. I really like to see more of the two in the background. Some are speculating that they were the Supergirl and Robin of Earth 2.

Women Wrestling Wednesday: She-Hulk Vs. Power Girl

Since St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner, I thought that this week's edition of Women Wrestling Wednesday should feature Jennifer "She-Hulk" Walters battling Kora Zor-L aka Power Girl (big thanks to gohwave for making the video).
