Bloodshot: The Official Movie Novelization

I found the Official Movie Novelization of Bloodshot in paperback book form at the local Dollar Tree last week. Not a bad find for $1.25 even though I miss the one dollar prices. I have seen the 2020 movie on cable that is based on the Valiant Comics character.

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 5: Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1

Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1 (October 2024) published by Valiant and Alien Books is a first for me. I have read a handful of the comics produced by the original Valiant but I have never read an issue of Shadowman before. I always thought he looked a little like a cross between the Black Terror and the Phantom. This cover shows him with a couple of skulls and this issue is a Resurgence of the Valiant Universe tie-in. Jack Boniface aka Shadowman is joined by his mentor and partner, Alyssa Myles, along with occult expert, Doctor Mirage, and the voodoo priestess, Punk Mambo. Be warned that there is some female nudity even though there is no warning on the cover. There is a flashback scene where Jack recounts how he was the Magpie before becoming the Shadowman. There's another Magpie running around now in New Orleans along with Golems that are part magic and part machine. Shadowman: Soul Eaters #1 is a pretty good start and I'm looking to reading next month's issue.

Generation Zero #6 (2017)

Generation Zero #6 (2017) published by Valiant was the fifth comic book in the Ollie's grab bag. This is the first issue of the series that I have ever read. "The Zeros" is what the media in Rook, Michigan calls a vicious youth gang and the sheriff's daughter is helping them. There also seems to be a either a futuristic building or an alien craft standing outside of the city that nobody seems to notice. The only character that really interests me is the cowgirl. There is a short bonus story that has nothing to do with the main title but does lead into X-O Manowar #1.

PCH Super Hero Comic Books Plus Graphic Novel

My Superhero Comic Books plus graphic novel grab bag arrived from Publishers Clearing House (PCH) on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. We got a nice mix with some comics from DC Comics and various independent comic publishers. Unfortunately, there was nothing from Marvel Comics. I haven't had the chance to read any of them yet so no reviews.
Cover of Bloodshot #11 from Valiant
First up is Bloodshot #11 (December 1993) from Valiant Comics. The only other issue that I have in this series is #3.
Front cover of G.I. Joe #16 from Devil's Due Publishing
Back cover of G.I. Joe #16 from Devil's Due Publishing
Next up is G.I. Joe #16 (October 2006) from Devil's Due Publishing. I have no other issues of this series from this publisher.
Cover of Justice League International #62 from DC Comics
I also received Justice League International #62 (March 1994) from DC Comics. This joins #20 and #21 that I already have.
Front cover of Robotech: The Macross Saga #5 from Comico
Robotech: The Macross Saga #5 (August 1985) from Comico was also included. I have never read an issue of this comic based on the cartoon series.
Back cover of Robotech: The Macross Saga #5 from Comico
I also have never seen an episode of Robotech: The Macross Saga.
Wraparound cover of Robotech: The Macross Saga #5 from Comico
I love the wraparound cover.
Front cover of Spawn Batman graphic novel from Image Comics
Finally, the graphic novel that I received was Spawn Batman (1994) from Image Comics. While I only have three issues of Spawn (#1, 2, 116), I do have a lot issues of Batman and related titles.
Back cover of Spawn Batman graphic novel from Image Comics
Overall, an interesting grab bag of comics from PCH. I was surprised at the choice for the graphic novel.
