Women Wednesday: Sirens: Love Hurts #1-4

DC Comics released Sirens: Love Hurts on February 11, 2026 under their Black Label imprint. The cover focuses on Catwoman but also shows Black Canary, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. Here is the official summary:

"HARLEY, IVY, CATWOMAN, AND BLACK CANARY BROUGHT TO YOU BY FAN-FAVORITE CREATORS TINI HOWARD AND BABS TARR! Introducing Gotham's most eligible bachelorettes... for at least a little while longer! First, there's Catwoman, who's been playing cat and mouse with her two favorite boy toys — Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight himself, Batman. Next up? Harley Quinn, who's recently single and now committed only to her hot girl era. Of course, there's also Poison Ivy, who just wants to enjoy her solitude...as long as her best friend Harley's there to enjoy it with her. And then there's the new girl, Black Canary, who's engaged to the love of her life, Green Arrow — but the closer they get to the wedding day, the more it feels like they might not be so written in the stars after all."

The second issue was released on March 11, 2026. The cover focused on Harley Quinn but also featured Poison Ivy, Catwoman and Black Canary. Here is the official summary:

"Things heat up in Gotham City as Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and their reluctant new partner in crime—solving, that is—Black Canary hunt down leads in their serial killer case. Catwoman ropes Batman into some steamy surveillance work, Harley and Ivy pour out the wine as they pore over evidence, and Canary...well, the only thing keeping her sane amidst wedding dress shopping and her too-fancy engagement party is getting her knuckles a little bruised and blood during suspect interrogations. But as the bodies pile up and Halloween looms large over Gotham, the Sirens realize working together across enemy lines proves harder than your average Justice League team-up. When the killer suddenly turns the sharp point of their knife from the city's most vulnerable women to the Sirens themselves, will the threat unite the mat long last? Or tear their alliance apart for good?"

The third issue was released on April 8, 2026. The cover focuses on Poison Ivy but also shows Harley Quinn, Black Canary and Catwoman. Here is the official summary:

"The holidays are here, but not every Siren’s feeling the cheer! Sure, Harley and Ivy’s friendship warms to a romance, but Catwoman and millionaire Bruce Wayne go ice cold when Bruce attempts to define the relationship— wasn’t he supposed to be a playboy? And then there’s the matter of Black Canary’s bachelorette party, where the Sirens and the police commissioner’s daughter, Barbara Gordon, are all on the guest list. Tensions ride high…and Gotham’s most elusive serial killer, Horoscope, is happy to cut right through them. Literally."

The fourth and final issue was released May 20, 2026. The cover focuses on Black Canary but also shows Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Here is the official summary:

"As winter melts to spring and the marriage of power couple Black Canary and Green Arrow looms large in Gotham City, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy struggle to pick up the shattered pieces of their friendship-turned-situationship… and a shocking revelation turns Catwoman’s relationship with Batman upside down. Even the bride- and groom-to-be face their own rocky walk down the aisle on their wedding day… one that the killer Horoscope is determined to make a bloody affair!"

Women Wednesday: Harley Quinn x Elvira #6

DC Comics and Harley Quinn released Harley Quinn x Elvira #6 on March 18. It is the conclusion of the season and seems fitting to end the month of April spotlighting it for this week's Women Wednesday post. Cover artists include Amanda Conner (Cover A), Chad Hardin (Cover B), Joseph Michael Linsner (Cover C) and Ben Caldwell (Cover D). There are also fifteen other variant covers, which I'm not showing. Here is the official summary:

"NO SLEEP ’TIL CONEY ISLAND! Even the coolest, most out-of-this-world road trips have to end sometime, and the party’s nearly over for the Mistress of the Dark and the Clown Princess of crime — but they are definitely going out with the biggest of big bangs! Will this fabulously dynamic duo be able to pull off the most ambitious holiday happening ever attempted by two amateur party planners? Find out as Elvira and Harley Quinn unleash upon the world the glory that is FOOL-O-WEEN!"

Countdown to Christmas 2025 Day 24: Harley Quinn X Elvira #3 Covers

Harley Quinn X Elvira #3 came out last week from DC Comics and Dynamite. While the issue has nothing to do with Christmas, I'm using it for this week's Women Wednesday post. Of course, there are several covers with most of them featuring Elvira, Harley Quinn and Powergirl. Cover A was done by Amanda Conner, cover B by Chad Harden and cover C by Joseph Michael Linsner. Here is official summary:

"NEXT STOP: TRANSYLVANIA! Harley Quinn’s plan to throw a borough-wide Halloween party in Brooklyn to save Elvira’s cancelled TV show is shaping up nicely — and by “nicely,” of course we mean “total chaos!” Facing a distinct lack of legitimate investors on this side of the Atlantic, Harley and her reluctant partner in crime have to broaden their appeals. That means courting Old World money — and money doesn’t get much older than the mouldering family fortunes found in certain European crypts!"

Women Wednesday: Harley Quinn X Elvira #2 Covers

Harley Quinn X Elvira #2 dropped today. There are a bunch of covers but I'm only showing the first four plus the cover gallery. Here is the official summary:

"When Elvira first met Harley Quinn, the Mistress of the Dark was desperate for any plan that could help her save her beloved TV show after it was threatened with cancellation by heartless corporate raiders. Well, the Clown Princess of Crime came up with a plan, all right, and now Elvira is along for the ride — no matter how crazy Harley’s scheme turns out to be! Putting together the biggest Halloween block party ever staged is a great idea in theory, but pulling it off means raising a massive amount of money — and a pile of cash that big is sure to draw the attention of every thug and delinquent in the Tri-State area. If Harley and Elvira want to keep their party funds secure, they’re going to have to become too big to fail — and that means going international!"

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 31 Bonus: Trick or Treaters

We had eighteen trick or treaters this evening, which tied us with last year. We had one big bag of assorted candy but it didn't look like it would be enought so we bought two more smaller bags. I was handing out dandy by the hanfuls but we still ended up with a bunch left over. Only one little girl stood out with a great costume. She was dressed as Jenna Ortega's Wednesday and the makeup was spot on.

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 31: Elvira in Cracked Monster Party #4

If you thought I wasn't going to treat you with an Elvira post this Halloween, then you are sadly mistaken. The cover of Cracked Monster Party #4 (April 1989) features full figures of Nanny and Elvira claiming a "monster interview". It was a trick since Nanny Dickering, the curvy blonde reporter, interviews Evilra, Misfit of the Dark. Cameos in this parody includes Vampirella and Freddy Krueger. The cover art was done by Skene Catling while Bill Ward did the art for the interview.

This concludes my Countdown to Halloween this year and I hope everyone enjoyed it. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Halloween.

As Tracy, Pat, Sam, and Tess try to piece together the return of one of The City’s most bloodthirsty killers, other Tracy baddies start to creep out from under the woodwork. Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 28: Enid Howlin' Confetti Cake Cereal

Kellogg's added a new cereal based on the Wednesday tv series this year. The Enid Howlin' Confetti Cake cereal is actually pretty good. The front of the box features a great picture of Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, who is a werewolf. The back of the box has facts and find puzzles. The side of the box has more fun facts.

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 26: Battle Ground by Jim Butcher

I'm cheating a little with this Countdown to Halloween post for Battle Ground by Jim Butcher is more fantasy than horror, but it has vampires in it. I picked the book up last month for three dollars at the local Dollar General. It's the seventeenth book in the Dresden Files series. While this will be my first Dresden book, I did watch the 2007 tv series on the Sci Fi Channel, which is now Syfy. Harry Dresden is a wizard and private investigator for those that don't know.

Countdown to Halloween 2025: Day 25:

If you are a fan of WWE NXT like me, then you know that tonight is Halloween Havoc on Peacock and Netflix. I'm a little disappointed that it won't be on the CW this year. The only two wrestling matches that I'm interested in are the two women matches. My money is on Zaria beating Blake Morgan unless the latter cheats or somebody interferes. Sol Ruca was originally set to battle Blake Morgan, but she's now crippled with a knee injury. Zaria is taking her place since they are tag team partners. I'm also hoping that Tatum Paxley takes the belt away from Jacy Jayne and I'm sure Dizzi Dame...er, Izzi Dame will help her in some way.

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 24: King Spawn #50

Image Comics released King Spawn #1 on Wednesday. There are several variant covers but I'm only going to show the first three in this post. Here is the official summary: Cover A was done by Todd McFarlane, cover B was done by Puppeteer Lee, and cover C was done by Skottie Young.

"Four years ago, Todd McFarlane launched the first large-scale expansion of the Spawn Universe with King Spawn #1. Now we are here to celebrate the success of the expanded Spawn’s Universe with King Spawn #50. An oversized issue with a story that will cross over into all three of the #50’s coming out in the coming months. (King Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, The Scorched). An ancient force, almost as old as time itself, has returned, and Spawn is in its sights. The story, sent into two chapters per issue, will be penciled by two of the Spawn Universe’s best, Stephen Segovia and Carlo Barberi. This is the one you don’t want to miss."

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 23: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Halloween Special #1

Boom! Studios released Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Halloween Special #1 this week. The cover has the Black and Red Power Rangers entangled in vines before a giant jack-o-lantern. This issue has four different stories featuring different villains. If you are a fan of the Power Rangers tv show or movies, then you might like this issue. Here is the official summary:

"The spookiest showdown in Angel Grove history is here! For the first time ever, it’s a Power Rangers Halloween one-shot — featuring the return of the Pumpkin Rapper and the debut of the sugary Colonel Maize! When the villains capture a bus full of kids and a few of their fellow teammates, the Rangers must swap scary stories from their most harrowing missions in order to keep hope alive."

This week's Women Wednesday post features Marian Heretic #1 that Boom! Studios released this week. Here is the summary:

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 21: Fanta Halloween 2025 Collection

I guess I should post about the Fanta Halloween 2025 collection since I posted the Pineapple Fanta can featuring Michael Myers yesterday. I found a bottle of the Chucky Fruit Punch Fanta at the beginning of the month at the local Dillons but no local stores had the cans. Dillons currently has the Freddy Fazbear Orange Fanta (I didn't see the zero sugar version). I have yet to watch the Five Nights at Freddy's movie or play the video game, so I'm not really interested in getting the Orange Fanta. I haven't seen any of the Black Phone movies, so I have no desire to get the Grabber Strawberry Fanta either.

Update: Somehow this post's title got deleted. It's fixed now.

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 20: Pineapple Fanta Featuring Michael Myers

I picked up a twelve pack of Pineapple Fanta cans featuring Michael Myers at the local Dillons store earlier this month. We got it because my sister is a big fan of the Halloween movies. I think this is the first time I tried Pineapple Fanta and found it okay tasting.

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 19: 30 Days of Night: Falling Sun #1

IDW Publishing released 30 Days of Night: Falling Sun #1 on October 15, 2025. This one has plenty of blood and vampires. Here is the official summary:

"IDW’s hit horror franchise returns with a terrifying new tale! The town of Barrow has moved on. Those who remember the vampiric terror of two decades past would rather not talk about it. Those who don’t remember don’t believe the stories. Ignorance will be their downfall, because a dark memory is stirring in the heart of Romania and it has set its sights on Barrow, the death place of Vicente. While vampires seek revenge for their fallen leader in Alaska, troubled teen Jalen James seeks sanctuary. After fleeing gang violence in Los Angeles, Jalen needs a fresh start. But he’s unlikely to find it as the sun falls…"
