Goodnight Candyman

Sad news for Tony Todd, veteran actor behind the ‘Candyman’ horror movie franchise and more, dies at 69. His best known role was that of the Candyman in the 1992 horror movie of the same name and the sequels, Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995) and Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999). He also played Kurn, Worf's brother on Star Trek: The Next Generation, an adult Jake Sisko on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Alpha Hirogen on Star Trek: Voyager.

This Hot Wheels U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 was found at the local Dollar Tree a few days ago. Of course, I had to pick it up even though I'm not a big Star Trek collector. This one is based on the rebooted movie series.

Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 27: Star Trek: Holo-Ween #4 Cover

The cover of Star Trek: Holo-Ween #4 from IDW Publishing features Redjac with his arm around Scotty's neck while Armus has Riker as a Wolfman and Deanna Troi as a mummy queen in his grasp. This is the final issue of the mini-series and it was indeed a real treat to read.

Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 20: Star Trek: Holo-Ween #3 Cover

Star Trek: Holo-Ween #3 came out this week from IDW Publishing. The cover features Worf as a Gill Man and Deanna Troi as a mummy queen being chased by a mob with the giant face of Redjac looming high in the background. This issue features a surprise (or not so surprise) guest star from the original series plus the return of a surprise (or not so surprise) villain also from original series.

Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 14: Star Trek: Holo-Ween #2 Cover

IDW Publishing released Star Trek: Holo-Ween #2 earlier this week. The cover features Data as a Frankenstein monster facing Riker as a Wolfman while the face of Troi as a mummy queen looms in the background.

Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 6: Star Trek: Holo-Ween #1 Cover Gallery

Star Trek: Holo-Ween #1 launched this week with three covers. Cover 1A and RI both have art by Francesco Francavilla that features Captain Picard and Deanna Troi running from Redjac aka Jack the Ripper. Cover 1B has art by Suspiria Vilchez that features Troi screaming with a giant Medusa head in the backgorund. I won't spoil the story but some of the crew gets turned into monsters.

Annie Wersching, Actress in Timeless, Star Trek, and 24, Dead at 45 Following Cancer Diagnosis. She began her acting career with a guest appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise and also appeared as the Borg Queen in the second season of Picard (a role originally played by Alice Krine first in Star Trek: First Contact).

Christmas Haul Part 3: Hot Wheels Star Trek: Sulu

I received this Hot Wheels Star Trek: Sulu diecast car also for Christmas this year. It is the Midnight Otto with a cartoon picture of him on both sides and the Enterprise on the roof. The front of the package features Sulu saying "Captain! I'm picking up an object of planetary size on the sensors!"

The back of the package features a look at all of the vehicles in the series that includes: 1988 Jeep Wagoneer (Uhura), '49 Ford C.O.E (Kirk), Custom '52 Chevy (Scotty), '38 Dodge Airflow (McCoy), Midnight Otto (Sulu) and '59 Chevy Delivery (Spock):

I only wore them once because he was never my favorite character from Star Trek: The Motion Picture but my sister couldn't find Ilia or Spock socks. I'm surprised that I still have them tucked in the back of my sock drawer for all these years.

Sad news for Yvonne Craig, TV's Sexy Batgirl of the 1960s, Dies at 78.

Yvonne Craig (May 16, 1937 - August 17, 2015)

Not only was she Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl on tv's Batman but she was also the green skinned Marta on Star Trek. She appeared in lots of tv shows stretching from the 1950s to the 1980s.

She also appeared in several movies such as It Happened at the World's Fair and Kissin' Cousins with Elvis with whom she dated.

Green Lantern To Crossover With Star Trek

Big news for comic book and science fiction fans at Star Trek and Green Lantern to cross over in new comic book series. This will be Hal Jordan as Green Lantern with the new look Enterprise crew from the movies. The name of the series will be Star Trek/Green Lantern: The Spectrum War. DC Comics and IDW Publishing's first crossover was Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes in 2011.

Very sad news this morning as ‘Star Trek’ Legend Leonard Nimoy Passes Away. He was 83 years old and he will always be remembered as Mr. Spock on the original Star Trek tv series to most people.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 30: Gaia Online Shopkeepers In Costumes

Every year Gaia Online throws a big online Halloween party. This year's theme is Demon vs Angel but the fun part is that the shopkeepers dress in costumes and hand out candy. Players collect twenty-two pieces of candy that can be traded in to collect Halloween collectibles. There are some costumes that are anime-inspired and I have no clue as to who they are supposed to be while others are from comic books, tv and movies. I've collected some of the more fun shopkeepers in costume.

First off is Bildeau, a robot, dressed up as Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:
