Kaws Monsters Set

I might not have found all the monster cereals this year but I did manage to get a set of Kaws Monsters as an early Christmas present. The figurines arrived in the mail on Saturday from General Mills. I'm not planning to take them out of the plastic yet.

Hot Wheels 2021 Gold TV Series Batmobile

I found this Hot Wheels 2021 Gold Batmobile at the local Walmart's a few days ago. This one is based on the 1960s tv series and is pretty cool. It's #131 of 250 for the year 2021 and #4 of 5 Batman-related cars. I also now have two of the black version.

Women Wednesday: Elvira in Horrorland #5 Cover Gallery

Elvira in Horrorland #5 is out today from Dynamite Entertainment and is the last issue of the series. This time she pokes fun at The Fly remake with Jeff Goldblum. Fear not for there will be a new series coming soon called Elvira in Monsterland. Here are the two cover gallery pages (the Giant-Size Thrillers featuring the Curse of Elvira cover is my favorite):

Women Wednesday: The Huntress on Justice Society of America #1 Cover

The Huntress (Helana Wayne) is the sole survivor on the cover of Justice Society of America #1 from DC Comics. The former JSA members are "ghosts" in the background and include Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Flash (Jay Garrick), Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Wildcat, Sandman, Hourman and Starman. This continues the story started in The New Golden Age one-shot issue and is a must read before reading this issue. Catwoman is also inside this issue along with a very interesting JSA that her and the Huntress leads twenty-six years from now.

The Return of Red Lantern

The return of Red Lantern happened in The New Golden Age one-shot special from DC Comics. Here's his Who's Who entry:

Women Wednesday: Vampirella Strikes #7 Cover

Since Thursday is Eat A Turkey Day, it seems fitting that this week's Women Wednesday post features the cover of Vampirella Strikes #7 from Dynamite Entertainment with artwork by Lucio Parrillo. The issue hits the stands today and should satisfy your hunger for horror and sexy vampires.

Superman and Supergirl Presents Strawberry Banana Instant Oatmeal

I guess the marketing staff at Quaker couldn't come up with a snazzier flavor or title for Superman and Supergirl to promote. Batman and Batgirl got to promote Gotham City S'mores Instant Oatmeal. Instead of calling it something exciting like Metropolis Mixed Fruit, they just went with the boring Strawberry Banana Instant Oatmeal. I finally finished off the box of six packets a few days ago. The banana and strawberry flavors are both there but I have never been a big fan of this flavor combination so I will not be picking up another box.

Kal-El's cousin, Kara Zor-El, is on the flip side of the box:

Women Wednesday: Stargirl: The Lost Children #1 Cover

Stargirl: The Lost Children #1 is now out from DC Comics. Joining her on the cover is Red Arrow, Dyna-Mite (TNT's sidekick), Cherry Bomb (Human Bomb's sidekick), Robot Dog (Robotman's sidekick), Air Wave, the Newsboy Legion, Betsy Ross (Miss America's sidekick), Molly Pitcher (Miss America's sidekick), Wing (Crimson Avenger's sidekick), John Henry Jr, Jimmy Martin aka Minute-Man Martin (Hourman's sidekick) and Greta Hayes aka Secret from Young Justice. The issue was written by Geoff Johns with artwork from Todd Nauck, colors by Matt Herms, and letters from Rob Leigh.

Salem the Witch Girl gets her own Who's Who entry in The New Golden Age one-shot from DC Comics now on sale. Think of this as a belated Halloween treat.

Batman and Batgirl Presents Gotham City S'mores Instant Oatmeal

Quaker put out special editions of their instant oatmeal earlier this year. I picked up a box of the Gotham City S'mores Instant Oatmeal a few months ago at the local Walmart's. The temperatures were over a hundred degees so needless to say that I didn't eat any right away. It took me a while to finish off the six packets and today was that day. Granted, I usually fix two packages at a time because one package is not really enough to satisfy my hunger. I'm not a huge fan of crazy flavored oatmeal but these were okay. I'm not going to rush out and pick up another box even if Batman is on one side of the box.

Batgirl is on the other side of the same box:

At least they didn't call them the Batcave Instant Oatmeal since the chocolate made the oatmeal look more like dirt.

Hot Wheels Arkham Asylum Purple Batmobile

I found a Hot Wheels Arkham Asylum Purple Batmobile at the local Walmart's yesterday. The purple is so dark that it almost looks black. The store must have finally put some new ones out since the pegs were actually full. This is #2 of 5 of the 2022 series even though the copyright on the back reads 2021. Pretty cool find considering that I have the green version and the brown version.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Shuri Happy Meal Toy

I picked up a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Happy Meal last Wednesday and managed to get the first toy, which is Shuri. However, I did not get the box as they did not have any. Shuri has the panther gauntlets on her hands. Her base is transparent blue and there is an app that you can use to unlock her powers. Unfortunately, I could not get the app to work.

The back of Shuri has a wheel that you can use to make her arms go up and down:

The Flash Cinnamon Bolts Cereal

Our local Dillons grocery store accidently got a case of the Flash Cinnamon Bolts cereal. They were never put on the shelf and went straight to the clearance shelf. My sister actually picked up a box for me when she discovered them early in October. Unfortunately, the store did not get any of the other Cap'n Cruch cereals inspired by DC Comics. The cinnamon-flavored cereal are shaped like lightning bolts.

The back of the box features a large pinup of Barry Alan running as the Flash along with some Flash Facts:

One side of the cereal box showcases the Superman Strong Berry and Supergirl Strong Berry (strawberry) cereal boxes:

So how was the actual lightning bolt-shaped cereal? The cinnamon flavor was weak with the milk making it even weaker. They were a little bit better without the milk. I was also disappointed that the box didn't come a cheap Flash lightning bolt toy ring. The store had a few more boxes on their clearance shelf last weekend but I didn't bother picking up another box.

The New Golden Age Ad

Geoff Johns is bringing back the Golden Age of DC Comics in a one-shot special called The New Golden Age coming out on November 8, 2022. This will lead to a new Justice Society of America title and Stargirl: The Lost Children. The new JSA team will consist of Hawkman, Flash (Jay Garrick), Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Dr. Fate, Huntress (Helena Wayne), Power Girl, Wildcat (Yolanda Montez), Dr. Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel), Jakeem and Thunderbolt. I can't wait for the one-shot special and the new titles.

Women Wednesday: Dark Knights of Steel #8 Cover

Diana (Wonder Woman) and Zala (not Supergirl but a new character created for the limited series) are on the cover of Dark Knights of Steel #8 finally out this week from DC Comics:

This is a pretty interesting Elseworlds story but you might want to wait until the limited series is collected in a trade paperback.

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 31: Kinder Joy Halloween Monsters

Happy Halloween and I hope everyone had fun with this year's Countdown to Halloween posts. Today's post is a look at some of the Halloween toys that Kinder Joy put out this year. I only got four just to see what I would get. I ended up with a ghost, a vampire and two zombies. The little monsters glow in the dark.

Each Kinder Joy monster came with instructions on how to put them together plus where to go to download the app, which I haven't done:

Now a word about this year's Monster Cereals. Boo-Berry was the only one I found this year at the local Walmart's. I'm very disappointed that I couldn't find Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Fruit Brute (I really wanted the latter one). I also found and picked up a box of Halloween Fruity Pebbles and a box of Hocus Pocus 2 cereal. I think that the other three Monster Cereals are missing because the local Walmart's still have tons of the General Mills cereals with the retro toys in them. So far, I have only been eating the Halloween Fruity Pebbles.

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 30: McGoblin Bucket

My sister and I both got the McGoblin bucket from the local McDonald's about a week ago. We didn't even try to get the other two since the green bucket was the only one we wanted. To me, the McGoblin bucket looks more like a witch than a goblin.

The McGoblin bucket also came with a circular activity flyer with stickers of costumes for witch and werewolf on one side:

The flip side of the activity flyer has two skeletons that you can put the stickers on to dress them up for Halloween:

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 29: Grimm Universe Presents Quarterly: 2022 Halloween Special

Grimm Universe Presents Quarterly: 2022 Halloween Special is out now and it's a pretty good issue. Not only are there sexy women but there are also zombies, werewolves, demons and other monsters.

The first page tells you in advance that this issue is going to give a very horrorifying spin on those Survivor-type tv shows:

There are four covers and here is the cover gallery (my favorite is the sexy witch on Cover D):

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 27: Halloween Event at DesignVille

I have been playing DesignVille: Merge & Design on Facebook throughout the year so I knew they did seasonal events. Their Halloween event this year is pretty cool with Louise dressed up as a witch while Robin is dressed up as Dracula. You get to collect pumpkins in the main game that turn into jack o'lanterns that you can use to decorate the outside of the studio. I finally made it up to level 3 and I'm hoping that I actually get to finish the online game's Halloween event.

DesignVille even has a special loading page featuring Louise as a witch that would make a cool desktop wallpaper:

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 26: DC vs Vampires #10 Cover

Technically, this is more a Women Wednesday post than one for Halloween since Batgirl and Huntress are on the cover of DC vs Vampires but I couldn't resist posting it (hey, it does have vampire fangs in the title's logo so there's that):

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 25: Mergest Kingdom's Halloween Adventure

Mergest Kingdom started their annual Halloween Adventure on Monday, October 24th. I have played it a few times on Facebook but I don't think I'm going to be able to finish it in nine days. I have yet to finish any of the special events at Mergest Kingdom. Frankenstein's Monster is the first helper that you can get in order to collect lanterns (yes, they spelled it wrong):

You can even get Count Dracula to help out:

Other helpers include a witch (I have gotten her), a spooky skelton and a spooky scarecrow. There are also ghosts that will drop items when you click on them.

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 24: Fear the Funhouse #1

Pre-teen Archie and his fellow Adventure Scouts are telling scary stories while camping in Fear the Funhouse #1 from Archie Horror. The first story is "Suburban Legend" while the second story is "Snack Attack". The final and best story is "Whatever Happened To Dilton?".

There are two different covers with Archie, Jughead, Reggie, Betty and Veronica being on both covers (they look older on Cover B):

I like the fact that Archie Horror treats the back cover as if it was just as important as the front cover:
