Grimm Fairy Tales 20th Anniversary Pinup Special

Zenescope Entertainment released the Grimm Fairy Tales 20th Anniversary Pinup Special earlier this week. Having a sexy Tinkerbelle on the cover is a stroke of genius since Spring started this week. Along with several pinups of your favorite women from various fairy tales, there is also a never before published short story that is a prelude to Grimm Fairy Tales: Once Upon the End of Time.

One of my favorite pinups features Snow White having her white panties exposed. You won't be seeing that in the live action movie that was released in theaters yesterday.

You also won't be seeing this version of the Wicked Witch in the Wicked movie:

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 30 Bonus: Horror and Fantasy Illustrated 2024 Pinup Special

Here's a special bonus treat for this week's women Wednesday. Zenescope Entertainment's Horror and Fantasy Illustrated 2024 Pinup Special came out earlier this month. The issue starts off with a special eight-page science fiction story.

The rest of the issue is filled with pinups of various women by different artists. The artwork includes fantasy, horror and science fiction. My favorite has to be the sexy mummy by Vinz El Tabanas

The Horror and fantasy Illustrated 2024 Pinup Special has several alternate covers. My favorite is Cover A featuring a demoness by Pierluigi Abbondanza.

Happy 100th Birthday, Bettie Page

Bettie Page may be gone but she will never be forgotten. The iconic Queen of Pinups was born on this day in 1923 and she will be honored in her hometown of Nashville today with a historic marker at her former school.

The Flash Cinnamon Bolts Cereal

Our local Dillons grocery store accidently got a case of the Flash Cinnamon Bolts cereal. They were never put on the shelf and went straight to the clearance shelf. My sister actually picked up a box for me when she discovered them early in October. Unfortunately, the store did not get any of the other Cap'n Cruch cereals inspired by DC Comics. The cinnamon-flavored cereal are shaped like lightning bolts.

The back of the box features a large pinup of Barry Alan running as the Flash along with some Flash Facts:

One side of the cereal box showcases the Superman Strong Berry and Supergirl Strong Berry (strawberry) cereal boxes:

So how was the actual lightning bolt-shaped cereal? The cinnamon flavor was weak with the milk making it even weaker. They were a little bit better without the milk. I was also disappointed that the box didn't come a cheap Flash lightning bolt toy ring. The store had a few more boxes on their clearance shelf last weekend but I didn't bother picking up another box.

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 18: Mary Marvel from DC vs Vampires: All-Out War #4

DC vs Vampires: All-Out War #4 hits the newsstands this week and the cover features Mary Marvel so it seems only fitting that she is focus of this week's Women Wednesday post.

Mary Marvel vs Shining Knight makes for a really cool full-page pinup even with the weird coloring of just black, white, gray and red. He's a vampire so this also makes a cool post for this year's Countdown to Halloween.

There's even a cool back up story with Black Lightning that is in black, white, gray and blue.

Women Wednesday: Galaxina Covers From Aircel Publishing

Galaxina is a four issue mini series from Aircel Publishing that was put out in 1991. It featured new adventures based on the 1980 movie starring Dorothy Stratten, a Playboy Playmate, in the title role. The back cover of Galaxina #1 is a pinup of the movie poster while #4 features her origins in a back-up story. The interior has black and white artwork. Galaxina is for mature readers due to female nudity.

Women Wednesday: Grimm Fairy Tales: 2021 Swimsuit Special

The Grimm Fairy Tales: 2021 Swimsuit Special is now out from Zenescope Entertainment. There are six different covers but I only found Cover A by Michael Dooney and Ula Mos. The first dozen pages features a new adventure featuring Gretel, who battles a witch at a seaside amusement park. The rest of the issue is filled with pin ups of the Zenescope women in mostly bikinis. One of my favorites is the Gretel pin up by Renato Rei and Sanju Nivangune.

Women Wednesday: Goodnight Julie Strain

I'm still at a lost for words after reading Julie Strain, Heavy Metal Warrior Queen, 1962-2021. The 6'1" pinup goddess and actress was only 58.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 28: Glamour Ghoul Vampira Paper Doll

This is not your ordinary paper doll for it features the original glamour ghoul herself. Vampira comes with her horror host evening gown, Liberace dress, dance suit and swimwear with tentacles. Accessories include raven headdress, bat glasses and vintage parasol. Bats and spiderwebs are added as a special bonus. I found the image on a Facebook group devoted to Elvira several weeks ago and thought it would make a great post for this week's women Wednesday, which is the last one before Halloween.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 23: Madam Satan #1

I'll admit that I have yet to read all of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina or watched any episodes of the Netflix's series with the same name. However, I had to read Madam Satan #1 and I'm so glad that I did. This is a very good one-shot issue from Archie Horror and I highly recommend picking it up while you can. Madame Satan #1 was released on October 21, 2020 so you might still find a copy at your local comic book shop.

For those who don't know, Madam Satan actually made her first appearance on the cover of Pep Comics #15 (May 1941) published by MLJ Comics, which eventually became Archie Comics. She didn't actually appear inside until #16 and her series lasted until #21. A certain teenager named Archie Andrews replaced her in Pep Comics #22. A second version of her with the name Madame Satan appeared in The Fox #1 (October 2013) from Dark Circle Comics (formerly Red Circle Comics). She returned a year later with the original spelling of her name in the last pages Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #1 (October 2014). Michelle Gomez portrays her on the Netflix series.

There are actually two different covers. The regular cover is by Julius Onta while the variant cover is by Robert Hack (I'm partial to Onta's cover):

There is Madam Satan pinup by Francesco Francavilla:

Even the back cover of Madam Satan #1 will make you shiver:

In case your wondering, 2020 marks the fifth anniversary of Archie Horror.
