Women Wednesday: Daphne Kissing Velma

I finally decided to try to watch HBO Max's Velma today. I'm almost done with episode three and it was a struggle. It's not the worse cartoon that I have ever seen but it's far from the best. This is definitely not a kid-friendly cartoon but it's also not exactly adult-friendly either especially if you grew up watching the old cartoons. Of course, the biggest moment so far was the scene in episode two with Daphne Blake kissing Velma Dinkley.

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 16: Velma Dinkley Cosplay By Xomayamae

I can't believe that we are already at the halfway mark for this year's Countdown to Halloween. Hope you are enjoying the posts so far. Here's a picture of Xomayame cosplaying as Velma Dinkley. I wonder what the rest of the Scooby Doo gang is doing?

Toon Trio Candy Sticks

The local Dollar Tree had bags of these Toon Trio Candy Sticks stocked in their Easter section and I picked one up. The bag really doesn't have a name so I just called it Toon Trio because it features characters from three different cartoon shows: Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones. Each bag is supposed to have 25 pieces or boxes with two candy sticks in each box but mine had 26 boxes. They were made in Colombia and distributed by World Confections.

Here is the front of the Toon Trio Candy Sticks bag:

I ended up getting eight boxes with Tom and Jerry (six were yellow and two were red). All the boxes had both of them on one side while Tom was on the other side of the yellow boxes and Jerry was on the other side of the red boxes.

I ended up getting 8 Scooby-Doo boxes (5 were purple and 3 were green). The whole gang is shown on the purple boxes with the Mystery Machine on one side with a close up of Scooby on the other side. The green boxes have only Velma, Daphne and Scooby on one side and a different close up of Scooby on the other side.

The Flintstones should have been called Fred and Barney since they are mostly featured on the 10 boxes that I got (6 were red and 4 were blue). Fred and Barney are one side of the red boxes with an extreme close up of Fred Flintstone is the one the other side. Dino is on one side of the blue boxes with Barney Rubble on the other side.

Countdown to Halloween 2013 Day 8: Scooby-Doo #38's Horror Hosts

Daphne appears on the cover of Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? #38 from DC Comics. She looks very much like a favorite horror hostess but with red hair. Shame that she doesn't actually appear like this within the book.

Instead, we are introduced to Nocturna, Mistress of Midnight:
Nocturna from Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? #38
"Creature Feature" is the first story in Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? #38: She looks like an offspring of Dracula and the Bride:
Shaggy and Scooby try their hands and paws as horror hosts, Count Shaggula and Mummymutt
Count Shaggula and Mummymutt from Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? #38
The second story is "Ghost to Ghost TV" and spoofs Dick Clark with a character named Clark Barr, host of the original American Grandstand. It's a fair romp but no where as much fun as the first story.

The New Scooby Doo Movies Guest Starring Batman And Robin

I watched The New Scooby Doo Movies guest starring Batman and Robin on Boomerang earlier this evening. It was great to see the Dynamic Duo teaming up with the Mystery, Inc. gang. I remember originally watching it in 1972 and have only watched it a few times since then. The Joker and the Penguin were the two guest villains. You can watch the episode in four parts starting here.
