JSA #1 Ad

Now that the Countdown to Halloween 2024 is over, it's time to get back to our regular postings. Here is the ad for the new JSA #1 coming out on November 6, 2024. This time the Justice Society of America's core membership appears to include Jade, Obsidian, Doctor Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel), Dr. Fate (Khalid Nassour), Hourman (Rick Tyler), Flash (Jay Gerrick), Wildcat (Ted Grant) and Green Lantern (Alan Scott).

Women Wednesday: The Huntress on Justice Society of America #1 Cover

The Huntress (Helana Wayne) is the sole survivor on the cover of Justice Society of America #1 from DC Comics. The former JSA members are "ghosts" in the background and include Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Flash (Jay Garrick), Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Wildcat, Sandman, Hourman and Starman. This continues the story started in The New Golden Age one-shot issue and is a must read before reading this issue. Catwoman is also inside this issue along with a very interesting JSA that her and the Huntress leads twenty-six years from now.

The New Golden Age Ad

Geoff Johns is bringing back the Golden Age of DC Comics in a one-shot special called The New Golden Age coming out on November 8, 2022. This will lead to a new Justice Society of America title and Stargirl: The Lost Children. The new JSA team will consist of Hawkman, Flash (Jay Garrick), Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Dr. Fate, Huntress (Helena Wayne), Power Girl, Wildcat (Yolanda Montez), Dr. Mid-Nite (Beth Chapel), Jakeem and Thunderbolt. I can't wait for the one-shot special and the new titles.

Convergence: Justice Society of America #1

Convergence: Justice Society of America #1 (June 2015) is a great tribute to the pre-Crisis Earth 2 superhero group consisting of Hawkman, the Flash, Green Lantern and Dr. Fate. The artwork for the cover is okay but not the greatest.

The interior artwork really shines:

The story is also one of the better ones in this big event. The four superheroes are stuck in Metropolis as old men without powers after the dome appears. Jay Garrick aka the Flash visits Kent Nelson aka Dr. Fate in the hospital since he's in a coma. He then visits Carter Hall aka Hawkman and his son, Hector, who is also in Convergence: Infinity Inc. #1., at their rooftop garden. Alan Scott aka Green Lantern calls Jay and tells him to get to the hospital quick. Kent has opened his eyes and then Telos does his speech. The dome disappears and a weapon firing machine attacks the city. The guys thinks it is from Qward the anti matter universe. Kent gets up and tells the rest that they can be superheroes again one last time. Of course, they all accept and regain their youth and powers.m

JSA All-Stars #10 Preview

Newsarama has a five page preview of JSA All-Stars #10 that you can read here. The issue hits the newsstands on September 1st, 2010. I have yet to pick up an issue of this series. Here is the cover featuring Power Girl facing the gods of Parador by Freddie Williams II, who also does the interior art of the main story.

Smallville's Absolute Justice

Tonight's two hour Smallville movie was an epic event featuring several JSA (Justice Society of America) characters. Kudos from everybody that starred in or worked on the episode. I am so glad that I started watching the series on a regular basis again this season.

Happy Thanksgiving

I am wishing everyone in the United States a happy and safe Thanksgiving this year. The following artwork was used for the cover of JSA #54 done by Carlos Pacheco (pencils; signed), Jesus Merino (inks; signed) and J.D.Mettler (colors). I did add the text.
