Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 2: Marvel's Doctor Who #3 Cover

Doctor Who #3 was published in 1984 by Marvel Comics and the Time Lord turns into a werelok, which is a futuristic werewolf. His companions in this issue are Sharon and K-9. I don't have this issue but I did read it online and it was not bad.

More sad news for Harry Potter actress, Helen McCrory dies at 52 following battle with cancer. She is best known for playing Draco Malfoy's mother, Narcissa, in the Harry Potter movies. She appeared in tv, film and theater projects, which earned several awards. In addition to the Harry Potter movies, she has appeared in Fantastic Mr. Fox, Skyfall, Doctor Who and Penny Dreadful.

Thrift Store Find: Doctor Who 1987 Mug

I found a Doctor Who mug from 1987 at a local thrift store yesterday afternoon. One side has the classic logo while the other side has a "ghost" TARDIS. Originally, this was offered as a thank you gift to those who donated to their local PBS stations.

The TARDIS is supposed to be blue and disappear when you add any hot beverage. I'm thinking the previous owner either used it too much or washed it in the dishwasher.

I only paid a quarter for it and I wanted it for the classic Doctor Who logo.

Women Wednesday: Elisabeth Sladen

Sarah Jane Smith will always be THE Doctor Who companion for she was my first. Elisabeth Sladen passed away on April 19, 2011 at the age of sixty-three from cancer.

TFAW Grab Bag #17: Doctor Who Classics Series 2 #13

I received IDW's Doctor Who Classics Seris 2 #13 (December 2009) from TFAW as a grab bag item. The RI (Retailer Incentive) cover was done by Mick Austin and Charlie Kirchoff. This issue features the fifth Doctor, who was portrayed by Peter Davison in the tv series, as he matches wits with frog-like businessman. This is the last issue of the series and two parts of Skywatch-7 is included as a back up feature.

TFAW Grab Bag #16: Doctor Who #6

I received the virgin variant RI cover of Doctor Who #6 (December 2009) from IDW as part of the grab bag from TFAW. Charlie Kirchoff and Matthew Dow Smith did the cover art. The story and artwork was good but it was the final chapter in the "Fugitive" story.
