DC Comics released Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1 today and here's the summery: "There’s a hot new outer space-themed nightclub in Gotham City, and who better to rob it than Catwoman, Ivy, and Harley? But there’s more to this intergalactic discotheque than meets the eye(s), as the Sirens discover when they stumble headfirst into a plot to destroy the entire planet led by the club’s owner — the alien despot Despero! I hope you have good insurance, Gotham City, because you’re about to get wrecked. Special appearances by deadly DJs, hunky alien hotties, dancers dressed as aliens, mutant failures, one wild UFO, and lots and lots of fire!"

Women Wednesday: Batman and Harley Quinn DVD
I picked up a few DC Universe dvds at the local Dollar Tree a few weeks ago. Among them was the Batman and Harley Quinn dvd from 2017. Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman while Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory's Benadette) is the voice of Harley Quinn. There are plenty of great moments in this animated movie such as Harley seducing Nightwing while she is wearing just her white bra and panties. Yeah, this is more risqué than Batman: The Animated Series. Poison Ivy and Floronic Man appear as the main villains. As a bonus treat, the special feature is a sneak peak at Batman Gotham by Gaslight, which I hope to find on dvd someday.

Sexy Sunday: DC Comics Bombshells #18
DC Comics Bombshells #18 starts with Mera talking with Stargirl and Supergirl on a battleship while Commander Waller arrives along with Big Barda and Dr. Hoshi aka Dr. Light. Hoshi gives the Soviet superheroines new uniforms that they object to because they do not want to be poster girls. Stargirl uses her cosmic staff to change their uniforms from red to blue. The sisters fly off probably to save their father.
Next, we catch up with Kate Kane aka the Batwoman riding in a white car with Catwoman and Lex Luthor in Berlin when they are hit by a black vehicle. Brother Night steps out demanding that they hand over Kate. She grabs her baseball bat and is ready for action.
The issue then switches to a prison camp in Greece where Wonder Woman is being held captive. Steve Trevor is trying to talk her into apologizing to General Lane. She refuses and breaks the bars intent on getting them both out of there.
In France, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are killing Nazi zombies while riding in a truck. Harley is singing about their exploits in a bizarre Christmas song.
The final section features Zatanna in Berlin reminiscing with Constantine, who is still a rabbit. He changes the subject to how she is on the wrong side. Zatanna explains how the Joker's Daughter saved her during the first purge since she had a Jewish father and a Romani mother. Constantine tells her that she is more powerful than she realizes and that the Joker's Daughter is using her as a battery. He tells her that Amanda Waller sent him there to find something that may be hiding in the cabaret. She tells him how the rooms moves and she has the feeling that something is watching her. He promises her that he will get her out somehow and together they can change the tide.
I won't give away the final page except to say that the Joker's Daughter makes a creepy appearance. This issue feels more like they are leading each into their own series, which I hope happens. I can't wait to read more adventures of these women.

Sexy Sunday: DC Comics Bombshells #14
The story actually picks up from #11 with Harley Quinn arriving at the English Channel, three miles from Calais, France in 1940. Tanks attack her stolen airplane and blows it up but she escapes by riding a bomb down.
She crashes into a greenhouse and the bomb ends up being a dud. Harley Quinn turns around to find Poison Ivy pointing a double barrel shotgun at her.
Poison Ivy takes her into her house and finds out that she is a smuggler. She confesses that she has at least three German soldiers buried under her greenhouse. The poisonous perfume that she made to kill them turned her skin green. A group of German soldiers arrive and Harley Quinn makes a giant homemade mallet. She greets one at the front door and hits him on the head with it. Unfortunately, there are more soldiers that chase her into the greenhouse. Of course, they fire their weapons at her and causes an explosion. Poison Ivy arrives in a truck and tells her to get in while the dead soldiers are walking about as zombies behind them.

Women Wednesday: Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special
The second reason is because of this cover featuring Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Catwoman in bikinis along with Bizarro sticking his head out of the trailer:
The third reason is because the story is full of fun and weirdness:
And the last reason is because Bizarro and Jimmy Olsen both show up:
Beware that this is not a kiddie book for there are some subtle nudity and adult humor in addition to the scantily clad women (I would rate this issue PG-13).

Women Wednesday: Convergence: Wonder Woman #1
The issue starts with Diana waking up while Steve Trevor looks out the window at the pre-Crisis Gotham City. They talk about her doing outreach in the slums and Etta Candy joining a cult while being stuck under the dome for the past year.
Diana puts on her all white outfit and parts with Steve outside their apartment building. She goes to the slums to find Etta already helping an elderly woman, who want to attend the cult's church. Unfortunately, the old gal drops dead at the feet of the High Priestess. Diana starts to give a lecture about religious tolerance and she gets knocked out just when Telos starts his speech before he lifts the dome. She is taken to the church's dungeon and tied upside down.
Etta Candy goes for help and finds Steve Trevor. Diana regains her super strength when the dome disappears while three mysterious figures show up at the church. The sisters think they are the angels sent to save them. Candy and Steve find them with their necks ripped out. They then confront the mysterious figures that turn out to be the vampire versions of the Joker, Poison Ivy and Catwoman from the Red Rain universe.
The vampire Joker takes Etta away while leaving Steve to face the vampire women. Wonder Woman shoes up to help but he tells her to go save Etta, who has already been bitten. As soon as she leaves, the cult sisters attack him because they have risen as vampires.
I have to put Convergence: Wonder Woman #1 on my favorite list for this even since I love seeing superheroines in horror settings. The grayish tone of the artwork actually works here. I also noticed that Wonder Woman's lasso seemed to pop out on the page. I can't wait until next issue when Wonder Woman battles the vampire Joker.
