Countdown to Christmas 2025 Day 1: DC's I Saw Ma Hunkel Kissing Santa Claus

Let's start off this year's Countdown to Christmas with DC's I Saw Ma Hukel Kissing Santa Claus #1. The issue actually came out the day before Thanksgiving but I decided to post it now. The cover features Stargirl, Jay Garrick aka the Golden Age Flash and Jade watching Ma Hunkel kissing Santa Claus. There are eight stories featuring Ma Hunkel aka the Golden Age Red Tornado (some members of the Justice Society also appears briefly), Dr. Light (guest starring the Atom and a few other superheroes), the Captain (he's still Captain Marvel to me), Galaxy, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Animal Man (guest starring the Phantom Stranger) and the Martian Manhunter.

Here's the official summary:

"Ah, the holidays. A time for joy and togetherness, presents and carols… and emotions, drama, and chaos galore. Join our merry gang of heroes and villains as they navigate the highs and lows of holiday romance. Supergirl kicks off her winter vacation with a blind date! Galaxy tries (and fails) to clear her superhero-ing schedule to spend Hanukkah with her sweetheart! And so much more! Warm up your winter with this collection of heartwarming and heart-racing tales coming to shelves this holiday season!"

Sexy Sunday: DC Comics Bombshells #8

DC Comics Bombshells #8 has the same cover as #7 and starts with Batwoman beating the crap out of a guy that sold information to the Nazis. After she throws him out of the window, Harper Row (Bluebird in the regular DC Universe) saves her from an ambush and asks her for her autograph:

After saying a romantic goodbye to Maggie Sawyer, Katy Kane meets Commander Amanda Waller at the Gotham train depot and escorts her to a special car. She meets her handlers Doctor Kimiyo Hoshi (Dr. Light) and "Big Barda" Free:

Commander Waller officially welcomes Kane to the Bombshells, an independent organization of women:

Batwoman's first assignment with the Bombshells is to go Berlin as a spy and contact La Contessa Selena Digatti aka the Catwoman:

Whew, there is a lot going on in this issue and it is fast paced. I can't wait to see more of Catwoman.
