Women Wednesday: Solara the Solar Flame Trading Card

From the pages of Sunbolt #3 from Moongem Comics comes Solara the Solar Flame on her first trading card. Grok came up with this version and I have to say that she rocks the costume.

Goodnight Valerie Perrine

Even more sad news today for 'Superman' and 'Lenny' actor Valerie Perrine dead at 82. She will always be Miss Eve Teschmacher to me.

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 30: Scream Queens 3 Trading Cards Trio

My one big Halloween purchase this year was a set of sixty Scream Queens 3 trading cards. This is not based on the 2015 tv series but on the magazine that lasted from 1993 to 2002. It was also known as Scream Queens Illustrated and mostly featured b-movie actresses mostly from horror movies in stages of undress. It seems fitting that I present three trading cards from the set as the last Women's Wednesday post for this Halloween. Brinke Stevens is a sexy vampire on #7 while Deborah Dutch appears with a skull on #9. Finally, #50 features Jeanie Brown playing cards with a skeleton.

Countdown to Halloween 2017 Day 29: Dark Shadows Werewolf Trading Card

This Alex Stevens as the Werewolf is from the 1993 Dark Shadows set:

TMC had the two Dark Shadows movies yesterday afternoon. I missed the House of Dark Shadows with vampire Barnabas but watched the Night of Dark Shadows with the ghost Angelique. I've seen both of them countless times and still have the on VHS (note to self: get them on DVD one of these days). A third Dark Shadows movie was planned but never made and I believed it would have had a werewolf in it. I have never seen an episode of the series with the werewolf in it. Of course, I've seen the reboot movie with Johnny Depp and thought it was okay but not great. I have watched a few episodes from the Dark Shadows binge on the Decades channel. Most of them, I have seen a few times from when the series was on SyFy channel.

Yes, Jonathan Frid is back as the vampire Barnabas Collins with a cane again on this trading card that is #40 from the 1993 Dark Shadows set:

This Ghost Rider vs Demon trading card is #59 from the DC vs Marvel/Marvel vs DC set:

I like both characters so it would be tough to choose sides for this battle of demons.

Countdown to Halloween 2017 Day 13: Timber Wolf Trading Card

Happy Friday the 13th and today I'm showcasing the Timber Wolf trading card from DC Cosmic Teams, which is #147:
