Hot Wheels The Batman Five Pack

I picked up the Hot Wheels The Batman Five Pack last week at the local Walmart's. I would have posted pictures sooner but I'm having problems with my Olympus digital camera again. The Bruce Wayne car is a '64 Corvette Sting Ray, the Batmobile is from the recent The Batman movie, the Riddler car is Burl-Esgue, the Penguin car is a classic Nomad, and the Catwoman car is the Gov'ner. The images on the Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman cars features the characters from Batman: The Animated Series. That is good because I wouldn't want images of the Riddler and the Penguin from the movie on them. However, I wouldn't mind having the Catwoman from the movie on her car. I wish there was a way to open the box without destroying it so I could take the cars out of the box and take better pictures. I would have to say that the Riddler car is my favorite from this set.

I think that it's about time that Alfred get his own Hot Wheels diecast car.

Hot Wheels Character Cars: Batman and Catwoman

I finally broke down and bought the first Batman and Catwoman cars from the Hot Wheels Character Cars at the local Dollar General yesterday. They are based on last year's The Batman movie, so you know how long they have been on the peg. The price of $5.50 prevented me from buying the sooner. They also had the Riddler and the Flash cars but no Superman and Wonder Woman cars. I'm never going to get the Riddler one because I don't like the character design, but I might go back someday to get the Flash car.

Women Wednesday: The Huntress on Justice Society of America #1 Cover

The Huntress (Helana Wayne) is the sole survivor on the cover of Justice Society of America #1 from DC Comics. The former JSA members are "ghosts" in the background and include Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Flash (Jay Garrick), Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Wildcat, Sandman, Hourman and Starman. This continues the story started in The New Golden Age one-shot issue and is a must read before reading this issue. Catwoman is also inside this issue along with a very interesting JSA that her and the Huntress leads twenty-six years from now.

DC Villains Pop-Tarts

Earlier today, I picked up a box of DC Villains Pop-Tarts at the local Walmarts. The flavor is chocolate sugar cookie so I'm not really in a rush to eat them. Lex Luthor, the Joker, Catwoman, Bane and Captain Cold adorn the box along with a few others in a line up on the back.

I wonder if DC Super Girls Pop-Tarts will be coming soon. If so, I hope they pick a good flavor for it.

Justice League Pop-Tarts

I've went through three boxes of Kellogg's Exclusive Justice League Edition Printed Fun Pop-Tarts in the last month. I have to say that I was underwhelmed with the printed results. Most like Batman and Batgirl were so dark that you could barely make them out. All the Catwoman ones had lines on them. One would think that with today's technology that Kellogg would have splurged a little to make the print quality better on these Wild Strawberry pastries. I wished I had some pictures but I've been without a digital camera for over a month now, which is the reason that I haven't been posting a lot lately.

There are a total of thirty-six stickers with each sheet having nine stickers. Characters include Batman, Penguin, Catwoman, Robin, Joker, Riddler and Batgirl. I believe I picked these stickers up at the local Alco's years before they went out of business.

Tasty Tuesday: DC Comics Bombshells #16

Batwoman and Catwoman are featured on the cover on DC Comics Bombshells #16, which is odd because neither of them appear in this issue. It does feature Mera on the first page which is the same artwork found on #4.
Cover of DC Comics Bombshells #16 featuring Batwoman and Catwoman
The issue starts with her defeating a German u-boat with an alien crew with the help of two whales while she sings.
Page 7 of DC Comics Bombshells #16 featuring Mera aka Aquawoman
Mera is actually called Aquawoman by sailors on the HMS Winston. She gets friendly with three sailors, who all show her pictures of their sweethearts. Two "missiles" appear in the sky and she leaps into action only to find out that they are Supergirl and Stargirl. Aquawoman starts battling Supergirl for she has no clue as to who they are.
Page 18 of DC Comics Bombshells #16 featuring Mera aka Aquawoman, Supergirl and Stargirl
Stargirl speaks English and tells Mera their story briefly and asks her to hide them. She introduces them to the captain and promises the sisters that they don't have to run anymore.

Sexy Saturday: DC Comics Bombshells #13

While I love Wonder Woman on the cover of DC Comics Bombshells #13, she does not appear in this issue.
Cover of DC Comics Bombshells #13 featuring Wonder Woman
Selina DiGatti aka Catwoman does appear in this issue.
Page 1 of DC Comics Bombshells #13 featuring Selina DiGatti aka Catwoman
This issue is mostly about Kate Kane aka Batwoman in 1940 Berlin.
Page 4 of DC Comics Bombshells #13 featuring Kate Kane aka Batwoman
She meets Alexander Luthor, who warns her about Selina before introducing them to each other at a party at her mansion. Catwoman gets Batwoman alone and warns her to watch herself before taking her to a group of upper crusts that is waiting for Edel Nacht aka Brother Night to begin a gruesome ceremony. He uncovers the body of a dead Nazi soldier moments before the Joker's Daughter arrives. She takes off a purple glove to show that most of her arm is black. Black energy radiates from her hand as she sings. The black energy goes into the dead soldier. He sits up before Brother Night commands him to recite the Reichswehreid. He does before the Joker's Daughter claims him to be the first of the Tenebrae and that the true war begins.

Sexy Sunday: DC Comics Bombshells #8

DC Comics Bombshells #8 has the same cover as #7 and starts with Batwoman beating the crap out of a guy that sold information to the Nazis. After she throws him out of the window, Harper Row (Bluebird in the regular DC Universe) saves her from an ambush and asks her for her autograph:
Page 8 of DC Comics Bombshells #8 featuring Harper Row
After saying a romantic goodbye to Maggie Sawyer, Katy Kane meets Commander Amanda Waller at the Gotham train depot and escorts her to a special car. She meets her handlers Doctor Kimiyo Hoshi (Dr. Light) and "Big Barda" Free:
Page 18 of DC Comics Bombshells #8 featuring Batwoman, Dr. Light and Gig Barda
Commander Waller officially welcomes Kane to the Bombshells, an independent organization of women:
Page 19 of DC Comics Bombshells #8 featuring Amanda Waller
Batwoman's first assignment with the Bombshells is to go Berlin as a spy and contact La Contessa Selena Digatti aka the Catwoman:
Page 22 from DC Comics Bombshells #8 featuring Catwoman
Whew, there is a lot going on in this issue and it is fast paced. I can't wait to see more of Catwoman.

Women Wednesday: Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special

There are several reasons why you should pick up Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special #1 (November 2015). First up is this cover featuring Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy:
Cover A of Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special #1 from DC Comics
The second reason is because of this cover featuring Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn and Catwoman in bikinis along with Bizarro sticking his head out of the trailer:
Cover B of Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special #1 from DC Comics
The third reason is because the story is full of fun and weirdness:
Page 19 of Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special #1 from DC Comics
And the last reason is because Bizarro and Jimmy Olsen both show up:
Page 36 of Harley Quinn: Road Trip Special #1 from DC Comics
Beware that this is not a kiddie book for there are some subtle nudity and adult humor in addition to the scantily clad women (I would rate this issue PG-13).

Women Wednesday: Convergence: Wonder Woman #1

The cover of Convergence: Wonder Woman #1 (June 2015) is downright spooky:
Cover of Convergence: Wonder Woman #1 from DC Comics
The issue starts with Diana waking up while Steve Trevor looks out the window at the pre-Crisis Gotham City. They talk about her doing outreach in the slums and Etta Candy joining a cult while being stuck under the dome for the past year.
Page 1 of Convergence: Wonder Woman #1 from DC Comics
Diana puts on her all white outfit and parts with Steve outside their apartment building. She goes to the slums to find Etta already helping an elderly woman, who want to attend the cult's church. Unfortunately, the old gal drops dead at the feet of the High Priestess. Diana starts to give a lecture about religious tolerance and she gets knocked out just when Telos starts his speech before he lifts the dome. She is taken to the church's dungeon and tied upside down.

Etta Candy goes for help and finds Steve Trevor. Diana regains her super strength when the dome disappears while three mysterious figures show up at the church. The sisters think they are the angels sent to save them. Candy and Steve find them with their necks ripped out. They then confront the mysterious figures that turn out to be the vampire versions of the Joker, Poison Ivy and Catwoman from the Red Rain universe.
Page 21 of Convergence: Wonder Woman #1 from DC Comics
The vampire Joker takes Etta away while leaving Steve to face the vampire women. Wonder Woman shoes up to help but he tells her to go save Etta, who has already been bitten. As soon as she leaves, the cult sisters attack him because they have risen as vampires.

I have to put Convergence: Wonder Woman #1 on my favorite list for this even since I love seeing superheroines in horror settings. The grayish tone of the artwork actually works here. I also noticed that Wonder Woman's lasso seemed to pop out on the page. I can't wait until next issue when Wonder Woman battles the vampire Joker.
