Women Wednesday: Vampirella: Armageddon #1 Cover Gallery

Vampirella: Armageddon #1 (2025) hits the newsstands today. Here is the official summery: "Return to the future world of Vampirella and Sepulcher City in Vampirella: Armageddon, from Vampirella writer Tom Sniegoski and artist Kewber Baal! Picking up from where our last series (Vampirella Strikes!) left off, Vampirella faces internal and external forces of chaos as a new threat arrives to stare her down! A threat… not of this mortal plane!"

Of course, there are several variant covers to collect. One of my favorite covers is the Universal Monsters cover by Mark Spears since it has Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Wolfman, the Mummy and the Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 18: Vampirella: Dead Flowers #1 Cover Gallery

Vampirella: Dead Flowers #1 originally came out the first week of October but I saved the cover gallery pages for this week's Women Wednesday post. Here is the description:

"More than 50 years ago, legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazella ushered the now-iconic Vampirella onto the pop culture stage with his singular cover painting for Vampirella Magazine #1. Now, in 2023, Sara Frazetta brings her grandfather’s legacy full circle as she takes the reins on a brand new series starring Drakulon’s Favorite Daughter! When her age-old nemesis finally gives up the ghost, Vampirella is lured to his rural gothic estate of Rookhaven to hear the reading of his last will and testament. There, she meets the manor staff — the prurient assistant, the wild-eyed groundskeeper and his pensive young daughter, and the sinister and enigmatic Mr. Frey. Expecting a trap, Vampirella and her young companion are not disappointed — but they also get more than they bargained for in this thrilling adventure! Written by Sara Frazetta and Bob Freeman and illustrated by Alberto Locatelli, this brand-new miniseries is steeped in gothic horror, complete with a sinister mansion, a mist-enshrouded graveyard, and a bevy of witches, ghosts, werewolves, and ancient satanic magicks. And all of it is enclosed in an amazing assortment of covers from some of comics’ greatest artists, including Lucio Parrillo, Collette Turner, Ergun Gunduz, series artist Alberto Locatelli, and Frazetta Girls’ very own Sara Frazetta!"

Women Wednesday: Die!Namite Never Dies #1 Cover Gallery

Die!Namite Never Dies #1 is out from Dynamite Entertainment. The cover gallery pages shows various covers featuring Red Sonja and/or Vampirella either as their normal selves or as zombies. There is even a variant cover with Gracie the Cosplay Lass as Vampirella. However, there are no covers featuring Pantha, Tarzan or Jane. You can imagine my surprise when I read the story that featured mostly the Lord of the Jungle. I think there needs to be some beefcake covers too for future issues.

Countdown to Valentine's Day 2020 Day 13: Vampirella Valentine's Day Special #1

Dynamite Entertainment published Vampirella: Valentine's Day Special #1 on February 13, 2019.

"Mardi Gras may still be a couple weeks away, but that doesn’t mean spirits aren’t stirring! Valentine’s Day is New Orlean’s version of Halloween—the one day a year that's a supernatural free-for-all, when all the ghosts and ghoulies come out to feast on the spirits and flesh of horny tourists. Let’s just say there’s going to be big trouble in the Big Easy!"

Stories include:
Vampirella meets a very interesting Cajun named Val in "Happy Valentine's Day"
"Matinee" (originally published in Vampirella Summer Special #1 in 2005)

Special note: Today is my fifty-fifth birthday.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 9: Vengeance of Vampirella #1 Covers

Dynamite Entertainment is giving Vengeance of Vampirella a second volume for her fiftieth anniversary. The first volume debuted in 1994 and it was a great series. The original writer of the first volume, Tom Sniegoski, is back. The story takes place twenty-five years in the future with a destroyed Vampirella and Mistress Nyx has created a gloomy world. There are five covers for Vengeance of Vampirella and they are pretty cool.

Countdown To Halloween Day 4: My Halloween Loot Crate

Loot Crate is a great subscription box filled with exciting merchandise for geeks. There is usually a theme like Futuristic, Magic and Anti-Hero. I thought I would write a little about what I would like to see in my Halloween Loot Crate.

For starters, I would like to see something featuring Elvira in a major way. This may be a Funko Pop, an action figure, a t-shirt or a comic book. The next character I would like to see featured in a major way would be Vampirella. Other characters that I would like to see featured include Lady Death, Alice Cooper and Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid's version not Ben Cross or Johnny Depp). Any issue of the classic Famous Monsters of past or present would be cool too.

What would you put together if you were able to create your own Loot Crate theme? You can check out their past and current subscription crate selection if you’re in need of additional ideas.

Dark Shadows/Vampirella #5

Dynamite's Dark Shadows/Vampirella (November 2012) wraps up the vampires fight against Countess Bathory and her minion, Jack the Ripper:

One of the best scenes is on page four when Barnabas Collins and Vampirella crash through the skylight with both of their eyes glowing red and ready to fight:

I found the team up between werewolf Quentin Collins and werepanther Pantha to be much more exciting than the team up between the vampires. I hope there is a sequel featuring them as leads instead of supporting characters:

Dynamic Entertainment will be releasing Dark Shadows/Vampirella #1 in August, 2012 written by Marc Andreyko. Patrick Berkenkotter is doing the interior art while the cover will be done by Fabiano Neves.

The summery according to Comics Continuum's Dynamite Entertainment For August is as follows: Two classic vampires meet for the first time! When the disappearance of a family friend brings Barnabas Collins to New York, he is ill-prepared for the seedy underworld of clubs that awaits him! And Vampirella's quest to find the "big apple butcher" sends her on a collision course with the vampire of Collinsport!
