Women Wednesday: Monster High: World's Scare #1

Monster High: World's Scare #1 from IDW Publishing is out today.

Here's the spooky summery found on the back cover: "Surprise, ghouls — I'm baaack. Did you miss me? For those unacquainted, let me reintrobooce myself. I'm Monster High's purrmiere gossip account, CryptCrier. I know everything and everyghoul. And here is my juiciest piece of gossip yet: IDW is bringing readers a faboolous new miniseries from fang favorites Jacque Aye and Caroline Shuda, starting with a double-sized first issue. Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo de Nile, and Lagoona Blue are starting a new scaremester at Monster High, so this is a creeperific jumping-on point for new fangs. How eekciting. This year, the World's Scare is in New Salem! The brightest minds are gathering to exhibit their latest breakthroughs that could change monster-kind furever. And Monster High's very own Frankie Stein is dreaming up something monstrous to honor her late father, Headmaster Frankenstein. With a little help from her fiends, Frankie is sure to shock the judges."

Women Wednesday: Vampirella: Armageddon #1 Cover Gallery

Vampirella: Armageddon #1 (2025) hits the newsstands today. Here is the official summery: "Return to the future world of Vampirella and Sepulcher City in Vampirella: Armageddon, from Vampirella writer Tom Sniegoski and artist Kewber Baal! Picking up from where our last series (Vampirella Strikes!) left off, Vampirella faces internal and external forces of chaos as a new threat arrives to stare her down! A threat… not of this mortal plane!"

Of course, there are several variant covers to collect. One of my favorite covers is the Universal Monsters cover by Mark Spears since it has Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Wolfman, the Mummy and the Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Goodnight Ozzy Osbourne

Sad news for Ozzy Osbourne dies weeks after farewell show at the age of seventy-six. I first read the news on Facebook earlier this afternoon and thought it was another hoax but it looks legit. He will be greatly missed but he will live forever in music.

Goodnight Malcom-Jamal Warner

Sad news for ‘The Cosby Show’ Star Malcolm-Jamal Warner Dies in Accidental Drowning at 54. I enjoyed him more as Kurdy on Showtime's science fiction series, Jeremiah.

Super Sunday: Superman Unlimited #3

Superman Unlimited #3 dropped last week and here's the summery: "When the towering terror of Toyman once again terrorizes the streets of Metropolis, Superman and Krypto are on hand to save the day — but in this new world of Kryptonite, even the murdering machinations of Toyman are supercharged with Superman’s Achilles’ heel! It’s a twisted turn of events as the Man of Steel uncovers a game-changing new use for this deadly substance, and it has the capacity to save the world? Plus: Jimmy Olsen moves to Gotham (careful, Jimmy), Tee-Nah of Gorilla City tries to fix Steve Lombard’s laptop (careful, Tee-Nah), and Intergang floods the streets — all in the latest installment of the emerald epic you’ll have to read to believe!"

Science Fiction Saturday: Lucky Charms Featuring Invisible Woman

I picked up a box of Lucky Charms featuring Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman a week ago at the local Walmart's. This is another General Mills cereal promoting the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps movie. While I like the jumbo rainbows in the cereal, I'm not crazy about the artwork since Sue has no mouth or nose.

Front of Lucky Charms Box Featuring Invisible Woman

The back of the Lucky Charms box has the entire Fantastic Four, which includes Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic and Ben Grimm aka the Thing. Yes, the FantastiCar is also shown. There is also a hidden message and a decorder. It's a different message than the one found on the Honey Nut Cheerios Featuring Human Torch box.

The other two General Mills cereal boxes promoting the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie are Cinnamon Toast Crunch featuring Mister Fantastic and Reese's Puffs featuring the Thing. I won't be getting those boxes because I'm not a fan of those cereals and I don't want to be stuck eating them.

Fantastic Friday: Blue Raspberry PopTarts Featuring Fantastic Four

I actually found a box of the Blue Raspberry PopTarts promoting the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie a few weeks ago at the local Walmart's. I ate them last week and found the flavor is much stronger and sweeter than the Frosted Strawberry PopTarts. The front of the box features the Fantastic Four that includes Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, Ben Grimm aka the Thing and Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman.

The back of the box features five of the eight different images on the PopTarts. I finally got one with the Invisible Woman on it. Unfortunately, the images were still blurry.

Warning: You may have problems with the blue dye used in the Blue Raspberry PopTarts several hours later (if you know what I mean, then you know). I had problems after the first two but not with the rest of the package.
