Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 8: Rip Figurine

Meet Rip, a figurine that I picked up at Dollar General and has to be one of the most interesting one that I picked up this year. The skeleton is still wearing the suit he was buried in. From the looks of his hat and tie, he appears to have died in the late 1800s. He's sitting on a tomstone with one foot on his own marker. His companion is Jack, a pumpkin that always grin no matter what situation they face. He has a lot of tales to tell including the one that the skull next to his other foot told him.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 7: Spoiler Magazine Interviews Elvira

The October 2020 issue of Spoiler Magazine has a cover featuring Elvira. There is also an eight page interview with the her and her list of most horrific movies to watch this Halloween. I present them here for you to enjoy but you can click on the above link for the digital issue.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 6: DC Swamp Thing Premieres Tonight on The CW

If you missed watching last year's live action Swamp Thing tv series on the DC Universe like I did (I don't do streaming services especially if you have to pay for them because I'm a poor fanboy), then you are in luck because all ten episodes will be appearing on The CW starting tonight. I have read nothing but good reviews so I will be watching. Yes, Adrienne Barbeau appears on the show but as Dr. Palomar, the assistant director of the CDC (you may remember her as Alice Cable in the 1982 movie version of Swamp Thing).

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 5: Boo Dog Figurine

I picked up this Boo dog figurine at the local Dollar General. It is wearing a black witch's hat with orange trim and a orange cape. You can't really see the hat and cape in the picture because I wanted to be sure that the Boo sign is visible. I couldn't resist since it was only a dollar.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 4 Bonus: The Walking Dead Returns Tonight

The Walking Dead returns to AMC tonight with an all new episode followed by the premiere of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. If you enjoy zombies, then you don't want to miss this special double feature.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 4: Cackling Broom Witch

This cackling broom witch was picked up at the local Dollar Tree. Not only does she cackle but she also lights up in red, blue and green. She is also motion activated so you set her up and wait for someone to pass by to set her off. Pretty good deal for a dollar

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 3: Elvira's Quarantine Special Comic Coming Soon

Breaking News from the Mistress of the Dark herself:

"Have I got a ghoulish surprise for YOU! I've channeled my inner ghostwriter and am making my first comic book! That's right, all you four color fiends, Elvira's Quarantine Special, "The Omega Ma'am" comic book features a story written by me and is coming to Kickstarter where you can get all sorts of ghoulish delights! If you’re itching for a sneak-peek at my comic book assets, be sure to go here and sign up for news about its release right now!

"Elvira herself tells the story of her own "quarantine apocalypse" adventure with Dynamite!"

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 2: Limited Edition Spooky Junior Mints Box

I actually picked up a box of the Limited Edition Spooky Junior Mints at the local Walmart's in the middle of September for a dollar. The black-centered ones outnumbered the orange-centered ones (yes, I bit each one to see what color they were). These are better if you put them in the refrigerator for a day or two because they don't stand up to the heat very well just like the regular Junior Mints. I do like the black and orange packaging with bats and dead trees in a graveyard with a full moon in the background.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 1: Grimm Tales of Terror Quarterly: Hellfire

Welcome to day 1 of Countdown to Halloween 2020 at Moongem Comics. This year we kick off the spook fest with Cover A of Grimm Tales of Terror Quarterly: Hellfire from Zenescope Entertainment.

"For centuries the Order of the Secret Circle has lurked in the shadows, reinventing itself for each new generation and going by many names; the Order of the Temple of the East, the Order of Knights and The Hellfire Club, it seeks to bend the nine demons of hell to its will. In 1912, Aleister Crowley took control of Hellfire and attempted to bring the Great Beast under his control. While ultimately failing, the ripples from that dark spell echo to the present, calling forth a new congregation who seek to reform Hellfire and tap into the evil power it promises."
