I find it funny that the only way to tell if Spider-Man is a vampire is for him to raise the lower part of his mask to show his fangs.

Halloween Countdown 2010 Day 2: Dark Shadows Magic Slates

In 1969, Whitman produced two Magic Slates based on ABC's Dark Shadows gothic soap opera that sold for thirty-nine cents apiece. One clearly features Barnabas Collins while the other features the Collinwood mansion. In the 1990s, they were reproduced so well that "copy" was printed in red near the price to keep people from selling them as the originals. I have neither but I remember playing with a Batman Magic Slate when I was a boy in the 1970s (unfortunately, I never saved it or took a picture of it).

Halloween Countdown 2010 Day 1: Hot Wheels Ghostbusters Ecto-1

Seems fitting to start the first day of the Halloween Countdown 2010 with the Hot Wheels version of Ghostbusters Ecto-1. I actually found this at a local store several weeks ago and I grabbed it since I missed out on the version that Johnny Lightning put out a few years ago as part of their Fright'ning Lightings line.

Goodbye WildStorm

Wow, this DC ENTERTAINMENT ENDS WILDSTORM, RESTRUCTURES is big news as the imprint ends in December. I have only a handful of WildStorm comics with the majority of them from the 1990s.

Ouch Ouch Ouch

I got the tip of my right index finger caught in the loading bay door at work Tuesday morning. The bone is broken and the nail bed needed repaired. Needed stitches in finger pad too since it was split. In pain now and off work for at least next two weeks. Updates to Moongem Comics will be rare for the next few weeks.

Hot Wheels Batmobile 2010

I finally found the Hot Wheels Batmobile 2010 (#42 of 44) at the local Alco Duckwall store. In fact, I found four of them but only bought two. According to the information on the cardboard back, this Batmobile was born in 2008 in Gotham City. Designed by Batman, this version has enhanced nanotech transforming ability that allows it to change into the Batjet, Batboat, Batsub, Batcycle and the Bat-mecha. One of these will be going on my wall next to the classic 1966 version.
