Blog Alert: DC Universe: The Source

DC Universe: The Source is the official blog from DC Comics. The most recent post previews The Last Days of Animal Man #1 that will be released on May 27, 2009. There are also sneak peaks at Wednesday Comics, which is the company's new weekly comic book which will be printed like Sunday newspaper comics and feature one pagers with several of their characters including Superman, Batman, Kamandi and Metamporpho). If you are a fan of DC Comics, then you need to check out DC Universe: The Source.

Women Wrestling Wednesday: Ms. Marvel Vs. Mary Marvel

Pepeloco999 brings an exciting wrestling match between the Female Fury from Marvel Comics and the Maid of Might from DC Comics. I like this one because Mary Marvel is wearing her white and gold costume.

Len Wein Survives House Fire

In case you have not seen the news, Newsarama reported X-Men’s Len Wein survives house fire. No human life was lost but their dog, Shelby, ran back in and perished along with a lot of original artwork.

The woman of steel battles the girl of cheese gone bad thanks to Pepeloco999 and Smackdown vs Raw 2008.

Goodbye Inkworks Cards

Newsarama posted Inkworks Cards Dries Up. The trading card company held licenses to such genre franchises including Alias, Twilight, the Spirit and Serenity.

What Have They Done To Billy Batson?

This panel is from Justice Society of America #25 that hits the stands on April 1, 2009 and it is not an April Fool's Day joke:

Yeah, that is Dark Mary Marvel in her new costume (I like the short skirt version better myself) and her brother, Billy Batson, after he said her name. So would he be called Dark Captain Marvel or Dark Billy?

Anyway, you can read an exclusive five page preview of Justice Society of America #25 at Newsarama.

Header Added

I have added my first header to Moongem Comics since I am snowed in again with most of the city.

Blog Alert: I Am The Phantom Stranger

I Am The Phantom Stranger is dedicated to the most mysterious man in DC Comics. I have always enjoyed the character when I first read about him in issues of Justice League of America from the late Seventies and early Eighties.

Blog Alert: All In Black & White For 75 Cents

I have been meaning to write about All In Black & White For 75 Cents for a while now and I keep putting it off. Seems like I waited far too long for the last post was on October 12, 2008. There is a slight chance that future posts may start again but the past posts are still there to read. All In Black & White For 75 Cents featured reviews and scanned pages from such classic magazines as Bizarre Adventures, Famous Monsters of Filmland, Epic Illustrated, The Hulk, Vampirella and more.

Update September 4, 2012: I'm sad to report that All In Black & White For 75 Cents is no longer online.

Women Wrestling Wednesday: Red Sonja Vs. Jungle Girl

This week's video features two battling beauties from Dynamite Entertainments Comics (I keep expecting one of them to pull a knife):

Venom Squirter

I was going to post about the Venom squirter on Saturday night after I got it but I never got around to it. This toy is the fourth toy in the Spectacular Spider-Man Happy Meal series from McDonald's. The toy has to be held under the water to fill it. My sister said it reminded her of King Kong with the huge arms.
