Doctor Moongem has met a lot of superheroes in DC Universe Online. Among my favorites are Dr. Fate and Phantom Stranger. Neither one really has much to say but each of them did let me get a photo with them.

Introducing Doctor Moongem

You may have been wondering why I haven't been posting for almost a month. I finally got DC Universe Online working and I have been playing Doctor Moongem. He is a mystical martial artist that can fly and has a Guardian that he can summon (I call him Gargoyle). I originally wanted to name him Moongem but that name was taken. His costume was going to be all white but I couldn't do that so his costume is mostly red and blue with some yellow. I reached 30th level pretty fast in about two weeks then started playing the other missions. I do not like the multiplayer aspect of this game so I will probably not be playing it as much now since it gets really repeative.

According to DC Launches New Horror Imprint, Called DC Horror, For The Conjuring. In a way, this is technically the return of Vertigo.

According to Tempest Storm, Who Disrobed To Enduring Fame, Dies at 93. She dated John F. Kennedy and Elvis Presley. She even starred with Bettie Page in Teaserama.

More sad news for Harry Potter actress, Helen McCrory dies at 52 following battle with cancer. She is best known for playing Draco Malfoy's mother, Narcissa, in the Harry Potter movies. She appeared in tv, film and theater projects, which earned several awards. In addition to the Harry Potter movies, she has appeared in Fantastic Mr. Fox, Skyfall, Doctor Who and Penny Dreadful.

Sad news for Felix Silla, the actor and stuntman who played Cousin Itt, dies at 84. In addition to his role on The Addams Family tv series, he also played the robot Twiki/Odee-x on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, an Ewok in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Dink in Spaceballs.

DC Universe Online: World of Flashpoint

I never could get DC Universe Online game to load but it's nice to know that there is a new episode out now to play. World of Flashpoint opens a window to an alternate timeline caused by the Flash. This is based on the Flashpoint storyline so expect to see Emperoor Aquaman, Thomas Wayne as Batman and so many others. The DC Universe Online game is still free to play.

Elvira and Dynamite Entertainment are teaming up again for another Indiegogo project. This time it's Elvira's Classic Adventures Collection Volume 1, which basically collects the Elvira, Mistress of the Dark series from Claypool Comics. It is available in softcover and deluxe hardcover

We all know that Dwayne Johnson will star as Black Adam but fans have been wondering who will play the gold helmeted magic user. There is finally an answer according to Pierce Brosnan joins Black Adam as Dr. Fate.

Women Wednesday: Spider-Woman Is Out For Blood

To be honest, I haven't been paying any attention to the new Spider-Woman series from Marvel Comics so I decided to pick up #10. The cover is great but I do miss her mostly red costume. The story wraps up the Octavia Vermis storyline.

Thanks to DC's Stargirl Season 2: Eclipso Photo Revelaed on KSiteTV for this first look at Nick Tarabay as Eclipso. You might remember that he played Captain Boomerang on an Arrow and Flash crossover. Season two of CW's Stargirl is expected to start this summer.

Batman: The Killing Joke DVD

I saved watching Batman: The Killing Joke dvd for last because I know how controversial the graphic novel is (yes, I have read it). Not only does Batgirl (voiced by Tara Strong) basically get it on with Batman (voiced by Kevin Conroy) but she gets shot by the Joker (voiced by Mark Hamill). Commissioner Gordon (voiced by Ray Wise) is kidnapped by the Joker and is stripped naked in an amusement park with some circus freaks serving the Joker. This is one DC Universe animated movie that is definitely not for young kids and it is rated R. I picked up the dvd released in 2016 a few weeks ago with a bunch of others at the local Dollar Tree and I'm glad that I did. One of the special features is the look of Justice League Dark, which I hope to find one day.

Batman Unlimited: Mechs Vs Mutants DVD

Batman Unlimited: Mechs Vs Mutants is the 2015 sequel to Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts, which I have not seen. I found the dvd a few weeks ago at the local Dollar Tree. Batman is voice by Roger Craig Smith while the Joker is voiced by Troy Baker. Other superheroes that appear include Green Arrow, Nightwing, Red Robin and Cyborg while Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Scarecrow, Silver Banshee and Solomon Grunddy are other supervillains that appear. This is more kid friendly than the last few animated movies based on characters from DC Comics that I have watched lately. The special feature is the Batman: The Brave & The Bold episode titled "Night of the Batmen".

Freedom Fighters: The Ray DVD

Freedom Fighters: The Ray is a DC Universe animated movie that was originally a web series that started in 2017 and ended in 2018. I picked up the dvd at the local Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and was actually the first one that I watched. It's actually a prequel to Crisis On Earth X, the fourth annual Arrowverse crossover. Russell Tovey is the voice of Ray Terril and the Ray while Melissa Benoist is the voice of Overgirl. The Ray is the first openly gay superhero to star in his own movie so there are some male to male kissing. While I did enjoy seeing Phantom Lady and Doll Man, this just isn't the Freedom Fighters without Uncle Sam. Also, Vibe and Mr. Terrific from Arrow does show up to lend a hand.
