70 Years of Marvel Comics Trading Cards Ad And Promo Card

I picked up Non-Sport Update volume 21, #1 yesterday on a road trip (along with eighty-nine comics for a buck each but they will be subjects of future posts). On the back of the Take Along Price Guide is the ad for 70 Years of Marvel Comics Trading Cards that will be coming out in the spring of 2010 from Rittenhouse Archives. The free promo card was P2 featuring the classic Thor.

Rapid Fire's Theatre's Improv On Infinite Earths

Rapid Fire Theatre put on a "Theatersports" on Halloween 2009 featuring Justice League (Superman, Batman, Robin, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Zatanna) versus Legion of Doom (Lex Luthor, Bizarro, Catwoman, Penquin, Gorilla Grodd and Scarecrow). Phantom Stranger and Darkseid are the announcers/hosts/judges. There are seven parts and you can view the first part here.

Blog Alert: Under the Giant Penny

Brian B and Brian A has a really cool bat blog called Under the Giant Penny. They write "about collecting and enjoying Batman memorabilia" along with posting some really cool pictures from their collections. They cover everything from Batman Crazy Foam to Transforming Batmobile Toothbrush.

Human Target Pilot

The pilot for the Human Target aired earlier this evening on FOX. I enjoyed everything from the acting to the story. The series moves into its regular time slot this Wednesday and I will be watching.

Marvel T-Shirts

I found three Marvel t-shirts by Fruit of the Loom this morning at the local Dollar General store for six dollars each. The first was a red Captain America t-shirt in which he appeared to be so fighting mad that his face turned red to match his gloves and boots:

Next, I found a gray t-shirt featuring the Invincible Iron Man in his red and gold armor:

Finally, I found a black Marvel t-shirt featuring Thor, Iron Man, Captain America (with normal flesh-colored face), Spider-Man and the Hulk:

Thanks to all the friends and visitors to Moongem Comics. I noticed that there are some now twenty-one followers and I would like to thank them too. The counter has shown that this blog has passed the eighteen thousand mark. According to the stats, Alison Angel is still how most visitors are finding this blog but it seems that Joker and Harley kiss is the most recent phase used. I do have to question the person that is looking for more of Michael Shanks armpit.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year's Eve.

Airheads Hulk Tattoo

My sister gave me a Hulk tattoo that was found in a package of Airheads (no, she did not give me the candy wrapper). From my research, this was one of four tattoos available to promote the Incredible Hulk movie in 2008.

Christmas Swag 2009

I received several cool items for Christmas this year. Two treasures were clothing items featuring DC Comics characters. The shirt features Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Green Arrow, Red Tornado (outline only) and Steel (outline only):

A black with blue and white beanie cap came with the shirt but is not included in the picture. DC Comics Originals written inside a circle can be found on it.

The men's sleep pant features Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Flash:

Both items are currently available at Wal-Mart's.
