Confessions of a Superman Fan covers everything featuring the Man of Steel from comics to toys. I have no excuse for not writing about the blog before now other than I forgot. I was cleaning out my bookmarks earlier and rediscovered Confessions of a Superman Fan.

Women Wednesday: Lauren

The only time that I have ever seen a gorgeous woman in a comic shop was when she was running the cash register. This behind the scenes video was done at a photo shoot for A Comic Shop. Not only is Lauren shown with a few comic books and an action figure but she also dresses up as Supergirl and Batgirl.

Batman Teaming Up With Doc Savage

DC Universe: The Source has posted about the Batman/Doc Savage Special coming this November. This is not the first time that the Dark Knight have teamed up with a pulp character. He teamed up with the Shadow in Batman #253 (November 1973). The Dark Knight is teaming up with the Man of Bronze thirty-six years after that famous team up.

I would really like to see a team up between Superman and Doc Savage.

Bluewater Does Black Scorpion

You remember Black Scorpion, right? The 1995 movie starred Joan Severance in the title role as part of Showtime's Roger Corman Presents series. She once again donned the mask in 1997 for Black Scorpion II: Aftershock. In 2001, Michelle Lintel played the character in a tv series for the Sci Fi Channel. According to Comics Continuum, Bluewater Productions will be putting out a monthly title featuring the femme fatale with the first issue having two different covers.

Adam West And Julie Newmar On Batman: The Brave And The Bold

According to Comics Continuum, Adam West and Julie Newar will be the voice of of Thomas and Martha Wayne on Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode titled "Chill of the Night" written by Paul Dini. Other major voices will include Kevin Conroy as the Phantom Stranger and Mark Hamill as The Spectre.

New Amazing Spider-Man Portfolios And Notebooks

I picked up the new Amazing Spider-Man portfolios and notebooks when I picked up the new ones with the characters from DC Comics that I posted about on Friday. While I found four different portfolios, I could only find two different notebooks. I really like the first one since the background looks real and Spider-Man is almost life like (Venom on the other hand does not). The last one features Spidey swinging away from some of his greatest foes: Green Goblin, Vulture, Doc Octopus, Electro, Rhino and Sandman.

New DC Comics Portfolios And Notebooks

I picked up the new DC Comics portfolios (aka pocket folders) and notebooks at the local Super Wally World today. The covers include the following: Batman and Joker, Batman and Aquaman, Batman with Aquaman, Superman and the Flash (the back of the portfolio has the Super Powers logo) and Wonder Woman.

Yesterday's Thrift Store Find: Adventures of Tintin Volume 5

I found The Adventures of Tintin Volume 5 yesterday at a local thrift store for a dollar. The hardback collects the following three adventures: "Land of Black Gold", "Destination Moon" and "Explorers on the Moon". I was surprised that it was it in good condition considering that this was a used book.


I remember watching the Tintin cartoon on tv back in the early Nineties but I never read any of the comic strips so this is indeed a treat. If you want your own copy, then you can get one using the following:
