Spider-Man 1995

This Spider-Man action figure was number one of eight Happy Meal toys that McDonald's put out in 1995. He stands about 3 3/4" and his head, arms and waist moves.

Doctor Octopus 1995

This Doctor Octopus action figure originally came from McDonald's 1995 as part of their Spider-Man toy series that they put in their Happy Meals. He stands at 3 3/4" but his top two mechanical claws can be stretch out to 5". Doc Ock's head, arms and waist provides movement. The best feature is his mechanical claws that can be moved around.

Spider-Man Webrunner 1995

The Spider-Man Webrunner was #4 of the 1995 toys that McDonald's put in their Happy Meals. The side legs move a little when you roll the vehicle. I also have one still in the bag.

Spider-Man Buggy 1996

This Spider-Man buggy from McDonald's came out in 1996 and was the first in that year's Marvel Super Heroes series. His body can be pushed back so that the web on the hood can flip down. I do like the fact that each wheel has a spider like the one on his chest but they are hard to see in the pictures since I did not use a flash.

Thrift Store Find: Thing Mug 1994

I can now enjoy a cup of joe with Ben Grimm aka the Thing claiming "It's Clobberin' Time!!". This 1994 mug was made in Taiwan for OZ in Kansas City, Missouri. I found the Thing mug at a local thrift store this morning for fifty cents. The original box that it came in was missing but I cannot complain at that price.

Adrianne Palicki In Wonder Woman Costume

Fans have been waiting to see what Adrianne Palicki would look like in the Wonder Woman costume for the new tv pilot from NBC. The first photo was posted at DC Universe: The Source today and I have to say that I am impressed. I love how her boots are blue instead of red to match her leggings, which has stars down the side. She does have the bracelets and the lasso. The gold eagle on her red bustier is cool and I like how thin the tiara is. You know that I will be watching NBC's Wonder Woman from the beginning.

Happy St. Patrick's Day From The Scorpion

The Scorpion Stingstriker was #2 in the Spider-Man toy line that McDonald's put in their Happy Meals in 1995. The stinger actually moves back and forth when you roll it. The flat tip looks like it would crush you more than it would sting you. He is smiling but I do not know if that is because he is happy that he was actually made or because he is about to run you over. Either way, this all-green villain makes a pretty cool toy.

Genecy #1 From InVision Comics

Gerald Cooper, the co-owner of InVision Comics, claims that "Genecy is like Conan becoming the Silver Surfer after being a slave on Apokolips". He is the writer of this independent comic with Eddy Barrows as illustrator. Tim Ogul and Oren Kramek did the coloring on Genecy #1 while the cover was done by Diego Bernard, Joe Pimentel and Oren Kramek.

Here is a summery of Genecy:

"An extremely feared and militaristic nation, proudly recognized as the Grunnod, has stolen freedom, joy and fortune from an entire galaxy. They are in search of an ancient artifact from a long, forgotten time. It is believed to unlock a door to an immense and immeasurable power. Many scholars, and others believed to be immortal, have died of old age trying to exhume it. This relic is believed to be hidden deep within the innards of a Grunnodian possessed world.

"A broken soul seeks revenge for what the cruel Grunnodians have done to his people. He escapes. And when a tortured victim finds power and purpose, the shacklers that face him sing a sad song."

Storm Riding A Tornado

This Storm toy was #2 in the Marvel Super Heroes line from McDonald's Happy Meals in 1996. She stands at 3 1/4" and twirls around when you roll it on the wheels. Kind of an odd toy but it makes sense considering her powers. I actually got this when they originally came out.

Obi-Wan Meets His Spirit

The Obi-Wan Powers of the Force action figure from 1995 features a removable cloak and robe. I believe that I found him at a local thrift store for a buck. Ben Kanobi is hard to stand since his leg is bent out of shape. I do have his light saber but he is not shown with it.

The Spirit of Obi-Wan is from 1997 and was a mail-in figurine from Frito Lays that I actually sent off for. His right arm does move up and down a little. He is holding the light saber belonging to Obi-Wan from 1995 since he looks cooler with it. Holding the Spirit of Obi-Wan to the light is even cooler since he is made from semi-transparent green plastic.

Invisible Woman 1996 Figurine

This Invisible Woman was #5 from the Marvel Super Heroes series that McDonald's put in their Happy Meals in 1996 . She stands four inches tall and actually has a blue tint but she's green in the pictures due to my lighting. I really cannot put her in the action figure category since nothing moves on her so she is more of a figurine. I really like the face for there is a slight pink tint for her lips and there is her "4" symbol on her chest.

Thing Vehicle 1996

From 1996, this Thing vehicle was #6 of McDonald's Marvel Super Heroes series that came with their Happy Meals. You push down on the exhaust pipes in the back and he swivels around to pop the top. The 2 1/4" x 4" vehicle does not roll well and I always thought it was an odd little toy.

Captain America And Human Torch Figures

Yes, I know that I have not been posting much here lately. I really have not gotten anything new to post about since I have not hit any of the local thrift stores. I raided a box full of toys that I packed away for today's post and to try out my Cobra DVC910 digital camera since my Olympus FE-170 digital camera stopped working a week ago.

Up first is the Captain America action figure that ToyBiz put out in 1990. I picked him up a local thrift store so he was missing his shield. The A on his mask is a little faded and marked up but at least he is in his classic costume.

Next up is the Human Torch action figure that came with McDonald's Happy Meals circa 1996. He is a bit hard to stand up on his own at times. His arms and waist are the only movable parts but he looks really cool if you hold him up to the light.
