Science Fiction Saturday: Star Trek: Lower Decks #15

IDW Publishing released Star Trek: Lower Decks #15 earlier this week. Brad Boimler is on the cover along with "Star Trek 60". I will admit that this is the first issue of this series that I have read but I greatly enjoyed the humor. I also have to admit that I have yet to watch the animated tv series on Paramount+. Here's the official summary:

"When Commander Jack Ransom promised Boimler command of the away team on Laapoonia in the event that both he and Sun-Sanchez — his Number One — were taken out of commission, he didn’t think it’d, like, actually happen. But now, Boimler is in charge, and things have gone full-blown Crisis Royale: A planet’s missing population, a big-ass alien warship, and a team at each other’s throats threaten to explosively end the Cerritos’ second-contact mission with Laapeeria. The name’s Boimler. Brad Boimler. And he’s got a license to… mildly delegate while panicking under pressure."

Countdown to Christmas 2025 Day 18: ThunderCats Holiday Special 2025 #1 Cover Gallery

Christmas may be a week away, but ThunderCats Holiday Special 2025 #1 came out yesterday from Dynamite Entertainment. Yes, I know it's spelled "Ho!(liday)" on the covers but the copyright page has it as "Holiday" so I'm going with that. This Festival of the Claw tale features mostly Lion-O, Panthro and Snarf. Here is the official summary:

"While on a mission in the snowy mountains of Third Earth, the ThunderCats stumble across Snowman, the last of his people, on the eve of the Festival of the Claw — a day of celebration, food, and gifts, and a time for Snowman to pay tribute to those he’s lost. With no others of his kind remaining to pass his traditions on to, Snowman shares them with the ’Cats, who understand all too well the need to persevere in the face of overwhelming loss. Meanwhile, just outside of Snowman’s mountaintop village, Queen Tartara’s royal guard are preparing to use the holiday as a perfect opportunity for a surprise attack. But even on this hallowed occasion, not every Thunderan has let down their guard!"

Countdown to Christmas 2025 Day 9: Hot Wheels Batman 5-Pack 2026

I also picked up this Hot Wheels Batman 5-pack 2926 last week as an early Christmas present to myself. I found it at the local Walmart's and it was the only one so I had to grab it before it was gone. The diecast vehicles include the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman movie, Gotham City Police Department SWAT Armored Truck, Killer Croc 70s Van, Catwoman Blvd Bruiser and the Batplane from tv's Batman: Animated Series. This makes my eighth Batman 5-pack.

The Blue Falcon and Dynomutt #2

Dynamite Entertainment released The Blue Falcon and Dynomutt #2 on Wednesday. There are several alternate covers and they are all pretty cool. Here's the official summary:

"READY TO TAKE A BITE OUT OF CRIME! Following last issue’s shocking events, inventor Radley Crown has declared a war on crime in Big City, and he’s tearing through his hometown’s underworld in the guise of his alter ego, the Blue Falcon. But there are things awaiting him in the shadows that are stranger and more deadly than any run-of-the-mill gangster or psychopath — and they’ve set their sights squarely on the Falcon’s faithful canine companion!"

Science Fiction Saturday: Space Ghost #3 Cover Gallery

It's another Saturday and here I am writing about another Hanna-Barbera cartoon character. Dynamite Entertainment released Space Ghost #3 this past Wednesday. There are a few alternative covers but cover B has to be my favorite of them all. Here is the official summary:

"The ancient barbarian known as Tarko the Terrible was lost in a blood-soaked battle across the icy tundra. Now, millennia later, his frozen form has been discovered in a block of ice and once he thaws out, he’ll find a whole new galaxy ripe for conquest! Can Space Ghost and company stop this time-lost warrior from wreaking havoc upon the future? Or will our heroes find themselves on the wrong end of Tarko’s blade?"

Blue Falcon and Dynomutt #1 Cover Gallery

Nothing can be better than posting about The Blue Falcon and Dynomutt #1 on a Saturday. I used to watch the Hanna-Barbera cartoon back in the mid-1970s when I was a kid (yes, I'm that old). Dynamite Entertainment released the first issue of a new series on September 10, 2025, and puts a very modern-day spin on the classic cartoon characters. Here's the official summary:

"Secure in their luxurious penthouse high above the downtown streets, wealthy inventor and art collector Radley Crown and his faithful canine companion enjoyed a charmed existence — until the fateful day a vicious gang of thugs shattered his complacency. In the aftermath of the vicious attack, Crown focused his incredible technical skills to rebuild both himself and his four-legged companion into the ultimate instruments of retribution: The Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, Dog Wonder!"

Check out these awesome covers for the first issue:

Hot Wheels 2025 The Brave and the Bold Black Batmobile

I picked up this Hot Wheels 2025 The Brave and the Bold black Batmobile yesterday morning at the local Walmart's for $1.18. I have the bronze version and the dark maroon version. I like this because it has red windows and red rim black chrome wheels. It is #145 of 250 in the main set and #4 of 5 in the Batman set.

The stripes on the sides and hood are two tone salmon color.

Women Wednesday: Monster High: World's Scare #1

Monster High: World's Scare #1 from IDW Publishing is out today.

Here's the spooky summery found on the back cover: "Surprise, ghouls — I'm baaack. Did you miss me? For those unacquainted, let me reintrobooce myself. I'm Monster High's purrmiere gossip account, CryptCrier. I know everything and everyghoul. And here is my juiciest piece of gossip yet: IDW is bringing readers a faboolous new miniseries from fang favorites Jacque Aye and Caroline Shuda, starting with a double-sized first issue. Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo de Nile, and Lagoona Blue are starting a new scaremester at Monster High, so this is a creeperific jumping-on point for new fangs. How eekciting. This year, the World's Scare is in New Salem! The brightest minds are gathering to exhibit their latest breakthroughs that could change monster-kind furever. And Monster High's very own Frankie Stein is dreaming up something monstrous to honor her late father, Headmaster Frankenstein. Space Quest #1 Cover Gallery

Space Ghost and Jonny Quest team up in a new mini-series from Dynamite Entertainment. Space Quest #1 was released this week and is set in 1965. If you're a fan of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons, then this is a must for you.

Science Fiction Saturday: The Herculoids #1 Cover Gallery

The Herculoids #1 from Dynamite Entertainment came out last Wednesday. This is a reboot of the Saturday morning cartoon from Hanna-Barbera featuring Zandor, Tara, Dorno, Zok the dragon, Igoo, Tundro, Gloop and Gleep. It was great seeing them all back in action again and I can't wait to read the next issue.

Hot Wheels 2024 Batman: The Animated Series Yellow and Black Batmobile

I found four Hot Wheels Batmobiles last Tuesday at the local Dillons store. Among this was this Hot Wheels 2024 Batman: The Animated Series Yellow and Black Batmobile. It's #5 of the Batman subset and #177 of the main set. It's basic black with yellow trim on the body and wheels (the trim on the car looks more orange to me). The card shows colored lights but the actual car is all black. The card is a little bent up especially on the upper right corner since it was in a bin with a bunch of other Hot Wheels. This is only the fourth Hot Wheels Batmobile from Batman: The Animated Series that I have so it's a nice addition to my collection.

Batman: Caped Crusader Batmobile

This is the best shot of the Batmobile from the new Batman: Caped Crusader animated series that I could get so far. Lookes like it might be a two-seater and has a retro muscle car look. The cartoon will start on August 1, 2024 on Prime Video. I wonder how long it will be before we see a Hot Wheels version.

Marvel Nano Pods Wave 2 Ghost-Spider

I not only found one Mavel Nano Pods Wave 2 Ghost-Spider but I ended up finding three of them. I'm pretty sure this one is based on the Marvel's Soidey and His Amazing Friends cartoon series. I have seen a few episodes and it's pretty good.
