This week's Women Wednesday Halloween special edition features the Elvira Studebaker Hearse ad from The Hamilton Collection. It was in the October 19th, 2026 edition of Woman's World. I got to see it online last Friday and thought to share it today. The Elvira figure is not removable, and the hearse itself is 10 3/4" long. "Elvira's Deadly Ride" is available for three payments of $33.33 plus $15.99 tax/postage/services. Alas, I won't be pre-ordering it due to the price (almost $150) and I've read a few bad reviews about Hamilton over the years. Countdown to Halloween 2026 Day 12: Midnight X-Men #1
Marvel released Midnight X-Men #1 last week. Nightcrawler is on the cover with someone in the background. We find out on page 2 that it's Storm as a vampire. Here is the official summary:

Countdown to Halloween 2026 Day 9: Cassandra Peterson in R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead 2
I finally watched last year's R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead on Tubi this Wednesday and I'm glad that I did. Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, will be appearing in Tubi original movie, R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead 2 on Friday, October 9, 2026. She will be playing a witch named Cassandra. Guess what I'll be watching tonight.
Note: Do not confuse the R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead Tubi original movies with the 1988's Pumpkinhead movie starring Lance Henriksen and the 1993's Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings movie starring Andrew Robinson. The third and fourth movies in that series (2006's Pumpkinhead 3: Ashes to Ashes and 2007's Pumkinhead: Blood Feud) are tv movies and worth watching too.

You didn't think I would forget about the Mistress of the Dark for this week's Women Wednesday Halloween post, did you? Elvira: The Wrath of Con is a one-shot special from 2022. Here is the official summary:

Page 10 is one of my favorite pages in this issue because there are two women cosplaying as Vampirella and Red Sonja. They also pop up later in the story.

Countdown to Halloween 2026 Day 5: 1990 Dark Shadows Catalogue Part 4
Our look at the 1990 Dark Shadows Catalogue concludes today with the final four pages. Page twelve include two color pictures of Jonathan Frid as Barnabas Collins and Kathryn Leigh Scott as Maggie Evans baring her vampire fangs. There is also a brief summary of Volumes 41-44 on four vhs tapes for $79.98.
The thirteenth page features a large black and white photo of Barnabas Collins with Victoria Winters played by Alexandra Moltke (odd that she wasn't on page two's cast list). There is also a brief summary of Volumes 45-48 on four vhs tapes for $79.98.
Page fourteen includes a brief summary of Volumes 49-52 on four vhs tapes for $79.98. There is also a large black and white picture of Louis Edmonds as Roger Collins, his new wife Cassandra protrayed by Lara Parker (yes, several of the actors played multiple characters on Dark Shadows) and Barnabas Collins.
The back cover features a large picture of Roger Davis as Peter Bradford. There is also the address of the Dark Shadows fan club as well as the MPI Home Video address for more information about the show's releases.
Notes: This 1990 Dark Shadows Catalogue originally came in an envelope that I have long since lost or discarded. The center pages are loose for some reason and I'm not sure if it came that way or not. Also, my wireless keyboard's battery died while I was writing the description for the last page scan on this post.

Countdown to Halloween 2026 Day 2: 1990 Dark Shadows Catalogue Part 1
Since this year marks the 60th anniversary of ABC-TV's Dark Shadows, I decided to share some of my MPI Home Video catalogues. First up is the first four pages of the 1990 Dark Shadows Catalogue. The front cover features artwork of Jonathan Frid as the vampire, Jonathan Frid.
The first page, which is the inside front cover, has a brief history of the gothic tv series. There are also pictures of David Selby as Quentin Collins, Kate Jackson as Daphne Harridge), Jonathan Frid as Barnabas Collins and Joan Bennett as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard.
The second page includes some information about most of the actors. There is also a small picture featuring several cast members.
The third page features a picture of Barnabas Collins in full vampire mode and a close up of Quentin Collins. The vhs titles for sale include The Best of Dark Shadows for $9.98, Volume 1: The Resurrection of Barnabas Collins for $29.98, Volume 2-4 on three vhs tapes for $79.98 and Volume 5-8 on four tapes for $79.98.

Women Wednesday: Gentleman Jack: The Real Anne Lister
I picked up the only copy of Gentleman Jack: The Real Anne Lister at the local Dollar Tree for $1.50 yesterday. The book was published by Penguin Books in 2019 with a foreward by Sally Wainwright. I have only watched a few episodes of the original HBO tv series. I won't be reading it until November because tomorrow starts the Countdown to Halloween.

Science Fiction Saturday: Lonja from Jakbat
Many moons ago, I created Lonja with the help of HeroMachine. I really didn't do much with her other than put her on my Moongem website. I forgot about her and never did a background story for her. The alien woman was never intended to be a character for Moongem Comics but I might have to change that.
Yesterday, I was playing around with Grok and created two action figures. The first one looks more like a figurine while the second one is a retro action figure. I like the first one better of the two.

A new month means new changes here at Moongem Comics. There will probably be a lot less coverage of new comic book releases. There will also probably be a lot more AI images like this one below made with Meta AI featuring three women from the 1950s playing Dungeons & Dragons. There are several dice, character sheets, a dungeon map and rulebooks on the kitchen table. The blonde's character is a level two ranger named Elyndra while the redhead's character is a level three magic user named Mlyra. That leaves the brunette as the dungeon master. I find it funny that someone put a bottle of milk on the stove.
