Women Wednesday: Yankee Girl

Proof that Merlin had a strange sense of humor in the Golden Age. He turned Lauren Mason into a superheroine in Red Seal Comics #17 (July 1946) and Dynamic Comics #23 (November 1947). She appeared in only those two issues until AC Comics revived her in the pages of FemForce and Sentinels of Justice. She had to say "Karma Madre Tolon" in order to gain her costume and powers but she originally had to say "Yankee Doodle Dandy". Yankee Girl received a one-shot issue in 2003 from AC Comics.
