Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 18: Grimm Tales of Terror 2019 Halloween Special

Join Keres, the goddess of death, as she presents three terror-filled stories in Grimm Tales of Terror 2019 Halloween Special from Zenescope Entertainment. There is a total of five covers and this is cover A, which features a busty grim reaper sitting on a scarecrow's arm. The other covers include a giant scorpion, a busty Red Riding Hood, a redheaded succubus and a gothic cheerleader. The stories and art are both great. You might still find it on the shelf of your local comic book shop.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 17: Svengoolie Meets DC Universe

I can't believe that I have not posted about Svengoolie before. The horror host will be featured in Svengoolie Meets the DC Universe #1 to celebrate his 40th anniversary. This will actually be a four-part series of "chapters" featured as two page inserts inside selected titles starting October 16 (yes, I should have posted this Tuesday or yesterday).

Click here for more information and an interview with Rich Koz aka Svengoolie and Dan DiDio.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 15: Elvira In Hallway

Let's heat things up a little bit with this picture of Elvira in a narrow hallway showing her sexy leg:

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 14: Gotham City Monsters #1 and #2

Gotham City Monsters is a six issue mini-series from DC Comics that started last month. The cover of #1 features Killer Croc, Frankenstein, Andrew Bennett, Orca and Lady Clay. The story takes place in MonsterTown, a section of Gotham City where monsters dwell. Andrew Bennett battles mad vampire monks before searching for their new king. Killer Croc is bummed because he can't find a "normal" job due to his looks after being released from the Suicide Squad. His friend, Tusk, offers him some opera tickets at the Magus Theatre, which he refuses. Frankenstein basically tracks down a possessed minotaur in a bar before setting him on fire. Grace Balin aka Orca attacks a ship in the harbor with a shipment for Bane, who now rules Gotham City, before retreating to her cave. Sandra Fuller aka Lady Clay flies to her apartment before heading to the Magus theatre. She enters disguised as man in a suit.

In the MonsterTown Station, Frankenstein learns from a talking mandrill that his master is giving an opera and would love for him to attend. A group of mandrills move a giant cauldron filled with bubbling green goop inside the Magus Theatre. Andrew Bennett joins a watchful Frankenstein on the roof of the theatre. They share information about Melmoth, the Monarch of Mars. Frankenstein literally cuts Bennett in half with a giant sword because he had bitten one of the vampire monks tainted with Melmoth's blood.

Inside the Magus Theatre, the mandrills are on stage with the cauldron while music is playing. A magician named the Red Phantom is being held captive in one full-length mirror while a demonic Melmoth is in another. The green goop goes to the enthralled audience including Tusk and Lady Clay like stardust before they start foaming at the mouth. I won't spoil the ending but it's a good one so pick up Gotham City Monsters #1.

The cover of Gotham City Monsters #2 features a demonic Melmoth stepping out of the bat-signal while holding Andrew Bennett. At his feet are the defeated bodies of Frankenstein, Lady Clay and Orca. I won't go into much detail about this issue except to say that there is more to the Red Phantom than him being just a vaudeville magician. Also, Frankenstein enlists the aid of Lady Clay, Orca and Killer Croc. Bennett tries to face a human-looking Melmoth on his own.

I really wasn't expecting the first two issues of Gotham City Monsters to be all that but they are and I can't wait to read the rest of the mini-series. I would like to see this title become a monthly or another mini-series in the future. Also, the Red Phantom needs his own series and become a member of Justice League Dark.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 13: Elvira Busting Out at Hit It Rich Slots

Wow, it's been a while since I last posted about an online game at Facebook. Elvira Busting Out at Hit It Rich! Slots has been out for several months but I've been saving it for today. I've been playing it several times a week and I've had some really big wins. My highest big win was around thirty million coins (shame that I can't trade for real cash but then it would probably only be three dollars). Anyway, I captured some various screenshots from Elvira Busting Out at Hit It Rich! Slots for you to enjoy for this year's Countdown to Halloween including this ad that I got in my emal:

The play screen once the Facebook online game finally loads and it features the Mistress of the Dark eating popcorn

Elvira Busting Out title screen with flying bats (yes, they are animated):

You can bet different amounts of coins on Elvira Busting Out at Hit It Rich! Slots. The higher you bet, the high your reward will be:

Elvira's famous dagger is one of the icons along with a hand reaching up from the grave. The spellbook allows the player to collect more coins:

The Mistress of the Dark holding someone's brain after they sold it for more coins to play this online slot machine. I think that skeleton might have sold more than his brain. Elvira's also enjoying some popcorn after gazing in her crystal ball. The icons are animated so you can see her pumpkins bounce:

The Big Win screen shows Elvira busting out on her famous red velvet couch:

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 12: Wooden Halloween Decorations

I picked up these wooden Halloween Decorations last month at the local Dollar Tree. Each of them has a loop of string at the top for easy hanging. I can't really see hanging these up but I thought the haunted house would make for a good backdrop for small toys. I still haven't got around to painting them yet.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 11: Elvira at Salem Horror Fest

From Salem Horror Fest Events: Meet Elvira, Mistress of the Dark:

"Cassandra Peterson is returning to Salem Horror Fest, and this time she is bringing Elvira, Mistress of the Dark with her! Visit the Haunted Harbor for photo opps, autographs, and selfies! For the first time ever, Cassandra Peterson will be hosting a super exclusive, private tea time event! Unpleasant dreams do come true."
(I bet you were wondering when I was going to post something to do with Elvira.)
