Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 15: Bench Warmer 2010 Halloween Trading Cards

Can you guess what day it is? Not only are in the middle of the Countdown to Halloween 2014 but today is also Women Wednesday. As a special treat, here are the Halloween trading cards that Bench Warmer released in 2010 featuring more hot ladies wearing skimpy costumes.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 14: Batman: Haunted Knight Halloween Edition

Batman: Haunted Knight trade paperback collects three stories that takes place on All Hallow's Eve. The Halloween Edition from 1996 features a spooky cover by Tim Sale featuring Batman surrounded by some of his villains: Poison Ivy, Joker, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow and Penguin.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 13: Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Special Edition #1

This is the Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight Special Edition #1 that was printed for ComicFest 2014. It's a odd little story with Jonathan Crane aka the Scarecrow planting explosives at power stations.

Batman is his usual mysterious self:

Unfortunately, the story is more of a prelude to Batman: Haunted Knight.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 12: Spooktacular Sweeps at PCH

Publishers Clearing House (PCH) had a Spooktacular Sweeps and I thought I would share the two screen shots. The first one has a jack o' lantern wearing a witch's pointy hat (I would love to win that $10,000):

The second screen is my favorite since it featured a witch with animated bat and smoke:

I entered the Spooktacular Sweeps at PCH but didn't order any items.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 11: Kansas Halloween Lottery Tickets

The only Kansas Halloween lottery tickets that I found this year around here was the one dollar "Cash Galore" scratch tickets so I bought two. The scene includes a haunted house with a bat flying out and a full moon behind it. There are also a witch, a werewolf and a mummy approaching the haunted house.

I did win a free ticket so it was like buying two and getting one free.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 6: Halloween Erasers from Dollar General

The local Dollar General store was selling some Halloween erasers when they started stocking for the haunted holiday. I grabbed a package and noticed that it promised sixteen erasers but mine contained seventeen. They all have very creepy smiles.

The back of the package states that the erasers were made in China and distributed by Dolgencorp.

The purple erasers include Frankenstein's Monster, Jack O'Lantern, Count Dracula, Bat, Bowtie Ghost and Witch:

The orange erasers includes Frankenstein's Monster, Jack O'Lantern, Bat, Bowtie Ghost and Witch:

I like to think that the purple Dracula eraser was a bonus.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 3: A&W Root Beer Mini Monster Can

I actually found the A&W Root Beer mini monster cans last month when my mother was on a root beer float kick. She doesn't use anything other than that brand but she only uses half of a normal size can when she makes one so the mini cans are the perfect size for her. Sunkist is supposed to have a mini monster can too but I couldn't find any at our local Walmart.

The front of the mini can has the torso of the monster holding the A&W Root Beer logo:

Yes, I forgot to turn off the flash on the camera when I snapped the pictures of the A&W Root Beer mini monster so forgive the streaks of light.

Prelude to Countdown to Halloween 2014

As you can tell, I have changed the header and some of the font colors here at Moongem Comics in anticipation of Countdown to Halloween 2014 that will start October 1st and last until October 31st. There will be plenty of treats and perhaps a trick or two.

Batman Forever Stamps Coming In October 2014

According to Newsarama's Batman Gets USPS Stamps in Time for New York Comic Con, 75th Anniversary, they will be available on October 9, 2014. There will be five different Batman Forever Stamps, four will feature the Dark Knight through the years and the fifth will feature the bat symbol.

Doctor/Doc Fate of Earth 20

In Infinite Crisis: Fight For The Multiverse #19, he is called Doctor Fate of Earth 20 and employs phase-blasters:

In Multiversity: The Society of Super-Heroes #1, he is Doc Fate because that was is father's nickname for him:

Whatever he is called, it's great to see an alternative version of Dr. Fate from DC Comics. I actually enjoyed the latter issue more for he comes to unpleasant fate in the former issue and the art is better.
