I like it for the most part but the texture of the costume does give it a look of armor.

Thrift Store Find: Mad Engine Marvel T-Shirt

Several weeks have passed by since finding anything of real importance at the local thrift stores but that changed yesterday. Friday the 13th was lucky for me for I found a XXL Marvel t-shirt made by Mad Engine for three dollars. This one features Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man and Hulk. There is also a woman at the top that I think is Janet van Dyne aka the Wasp as Giant Girl but I'm not for sure since I have never seen that costume before. The following picture is from a seller on eBay who writes that the mysterious woman is Electra (you can view his small t-shirt here):

Anybody know who the mysterious woman is? My google-fu is failing me at the moment.

Opi's Amazing Spider-Man Nail Polish Collection

The local retail store where I work part time (I'm mostly the bathroom cleaner) had the Opi's Amazing Spider-Man Nail Polish Collection. They went fast for I was able to take the display home with me this morning and thus saving it from being trashed. I snapped some pictures but they turned out awful since the digital camera that I'm currently using sucks (I miss my Olympus FE-170) so the following picture is from Amazon:

The nail polish are as follows: Into the Night, Your Web or Mine?, Number One Nemesis, My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Just Spotted the Lizard and Call Me Gwen-ever. I just got the display and none of the nail polish. The only time I use nail polish is around Halloween and that is usually just plain black.

The Order of Dragonet #1

The Order of Dragonet #1 (September 2012) is an ongoing series written by Jeremy Whitley, drawn/lettered by Jason Strutz and published by Action Lab Comics. When Britain's mythical creatures return to the modern world, Merlin calls upon three celebrities to protect the crown. Unfortunately, they include a B-movie actor, a wash-up rock star and a writer of children's books. I enjoyed the story especially the scenes with Sir Tottington, the aging gay actor. The issue is forty-four pages priced at $4.99 and is currently in Previews. Overall, I give The Order of Dragonet #1 a solid B.

Scary Saturday: Alice Cooper In Bigfoot

Tonight's movie on Syfy is Bigfoot starring Danny Bonaduce from The Partridge Family and Barry Williams The Brady Bunch but the big guest star will be Alice Cooper. Here is a shot from the movie:

House Of Mystery In Justice League Dark #10

The House of Mystery makes an appearance in Justice League Dark. Seems that John Constantine won the key in a poker game with Father Time and Dr. Occult. He unlocks a door in an alleyway and the house is explained as being a twin to the House of Secrets. They are both way stations on the road to limbo and move around a lot.

The group is introduced to n'aall, a demon that is the caretaker of the House of Mystery:

Women Wednesday: Birds of Prey XXX

I'm speechless not because Birds of Prey XXX is an adult film but that the costumes for Black Canary and the Huntress looks pretty cool. Always nice to see Barbara Gordon as Oracle. Unfortunately, they used face paint for their masks.

DC Comics should team up with Sinister Comixxx and put out a comic mini-series based on this movie.

Thor PEZ

I picked up another Thor PEZ when I picked up the Captain America and Iron Man ones. Unlike the first one, this one was bagged so I had no problem in opening the package up so I could play...er, admire the candy dispenser more closer. I really love the details of his face and wings. He came with cherry and raspberry flavored candy.

Women Wednesday: Robyn Hood

Grimm Fairy Tales Presents: Robyn Hood #1 from Zenescope Entertainment will feature three different covers when it hits the streets in September. The one below if from Eric Basaldus aka Ebas, who also does the interior artwork: I really need to start reading the Grimm Fairy Tales comics.

Comic Review: Double Jumpers #2

Action Lab Entertainment's Double Jumpers #2 is just as good as the first issue if not better. Kane Darkheart and his band of adventurers hit a casino for coin of the land and Peepers for food. Meanwhile, Jason and his friends try to figure out how they can get out of the "game". While there are jokes aplenty, there is some seriousness too. One of my favorite moments in Double Jumpers #2 is after the fight at Peepers: The artwork and story continue to be great so I give Double Jumpers #1 an A+ also. I highly recommend this mini-series to everyone but especially to those cosplay and gamer fans.

September Is Zero Month At DC Comics

DC Comics for September proves how much the company likes to screw around with the numbering system. Remember Zero Hour? Well, basically it's back again. One would have thought that they would have started the reboot with zero issues and go from there.
