Big Changes At DC Comics This June Includes New Look and Series For Starfire

Very interesting news at DC Reveals Major Changes, New Direction For Comic Book Line for the new 52 brand will no longer be used starting in June. Sure, the rebooted DC Universe will stay but stories will play a bigger part. There will be twenty-four new first issues joining twenty-five existing titles. Included in the new titles will be Black Canary, Harley Quinn/Power Girl and Starfire, who gets a new look:

There will be more humor titles including Bizarro, Bat-Mite and Prez. Fans of grittier comics will still find plenty to read including a revamped John Constantine series titled Constantine: The Hellblazer (in related news his tv series has yet to be renewed) plus Section Eight, which will have characters from the Hitman series. Naturally, a new Justice League of America series will be launched. Earth 2 is one of several titles getting revamped and the new series will be Earth 2: Society (I hope this means that the Justice Society is returning in one form or another).

Master of Kung-Fu gets New Mini-Series And World

According to Shang-Chi Gets New Series & New World in 'Master of Kung-Fu', is set in a Battleworld, which merges worlds and sets up the events in Marvel's upcoming Secret Wars event. This new Shang-Chi will be the offspring of an ancient sorcerer Zu instead of Fu Manchu. He will be living in "K’un Lun, a land where the study of martial arts reigns supreme". Other familiar Marvel characters that will appear include Rand-Kai (Danny Rand aka Iron Fist), Kitty/Kitten and Lockheed, Caliban, Cypher, Wolfsbane/Rahne, Marrow, Typhus (Typhoid Mary), and Red Sai (Elektra). Francesco Francavilla provides the covers for this Master of Kung-Fu mini-series while the story was written by Haden Blackman and illustrated by Dalibor Talajic.

This might be fun just for the different twist on Shang-Chi.

Official Fantastic Four Teaser Trailer

Yeah, this is the one with the black Johnny Storm. No, I don't have a problem with that. What I have a problem is that nothing really excites me about wanting to watch the movie after viewing the official Fantastic Four teaser trailer: Hopefully, the full trailer will be more exciting.

Batman Duct Tape

I finally broke down and bought the Batman Duct Tape by Scotch today at the local Alco's store that is going out of business. The original closing date was January 31st but now it will be March 8th. I have been coping with working nights for the past two weeks at the local big W store as floor maintenance, which sucks by the way. That's one of the reasons that I haven't post much here lately. Anyway the original price of the Batman Duct Tape was $4.88 but I got a discount of $1.95 taken off.

I thought about using it on the edge of my computer desk since it is wearing out.

Belated Women Wednesday: Melissa Benoist Cast as Supergirl

Yeah, I didn't make a post for this week's Women Wednesday so here is one a day late. According to Comics Alliance's CBS 'Supergirl' Casts Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El for their upcoming tv series. She's best known for her role as Marley Rose on Glee.

So I'm wondering how many special episodes will have Supergirl singing.

Wonder Woman '77 #1

Wonder Woman '77 #1 is a web only comic book from DC Comics and is based on the tv series staring Lynda Carter. Here is the cover:

The issue starts with the Amazon Princess fighting a bunch of Russian roller derby queens:

Wonder Woman doing her twirl to change back into Diana Prince:

Check out Diana and Steve in their disco clothes:

The artwork is a little uneven at times especially with the likeness of Lyle Waggoner as Steve Trevor. I'm sure it will get better as the series progresses. The story was good and I like the twist at the end, which makes me want to read the second issue. If you're a fan of Wonder Woman, then this is a must.
