Batman And Robin 1989 PVC Figures

These Batman and Robin PVC figures was made by Applause in 1989. The Dark Knight is 3 1/2" tall while the Boy Wonder is 3 1/4" tall. I believe that I found these at a local thrift store for fifty cents each several years ago. Batman's cape is separate from the rest of his body and can be pulled back. Robin's cape is attached to his body.

Magneto's Helmet In Mafia Wars

I finally collected one set of the X-Men First Class items in Mafia Wars so I can receive Magneto's Helmet:

DC Comics Reboots

DC Comics actually broke the news yesterday that they will be rebooting their entire line of comics on August 31st starting with a brand new Justice League #1. This title will feature younger versions of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern plus Cyborg in place of Martian Manhunter. Fifty-one other titles will be rebooted with number ones. You can read more about the reboot at DC Universe: The Source and DC reboots EVERY superhero, starts all comics over with issue #1.

I am on the fence about the reboot right now. I actually believed that the DC Universe should have been rebooted completely with Crisis On Infinite Earths in 1985.

Superhero City Celebrates Kevin Eastman's Birthday With Storm Cannon

May 30 was Kevin Eastman's forty-ninth birthday and Superhero City is offering Storm Cannon until June 2nd. Yes, I know this is a day late but I did not notice the new addition until a few moments ago.

G.I. Combat #217

I found a used Canon LiDE 20 scanner with program disc at a local thrift store for five dollars this morning and snatched it up to replace my bulky UMAX Astra 2000U scanner. The best part was that it worked so my first scan was the cover of G.I. Combat #217 (Dec/Jan 1979/1980). The cover artist was Joe Kubert and the dollar comic has a total of six stories. The first story features the Haunted Tank in "The General Died Twice!" Next comes O.S.S. in "The Pigeon Spies", a one-page article about the signal corps titled "Getting The Message Through" and then the Hidden War featured in "A Fine Day For A Hanging". The Haunted Tank returns in another story title "Save The Enemy!" That is followed by "The 3000-Mile Nightmare", a sizzling sky-war special. Finally, the Haunted Tank returns for "Don't Sell Your Dog Tags Cheap".

My issue has seen better days since it is dog eared and very worn. The covers are about to separate from the rest of the comic book but at least all the pages are intact. I also have G.I. Combat #219, 220, 228 and 235.

Women Wednesday: Adrianne Palicki In Wonder Woman Shorts

The Wonder Woman costume that everyone had been waiting to see Adrianne Palicki wear was released a few days ago:

To be honest, I like the blue pant version better.

Cherry Dr Pepper Loki Can

I picked up a case of Cherry Dr Pepper this morning at the local Super Wally-World and all the cans have Loki on them. The store was completely out of the regular and diet Dr Pepper. They only had two cases each of Cherry and Diet Cherry. The blurb on the can reads "Loki, the trickster. A master of manipulation, his ambition is to be feared!"

Women Wednesday: Barry Allen's Mom

From Flashpoint #1 (July 2011), Barry Allen aka the Flash hugs his mom shortly after he wakes up in a world where she is still alive. Call this a belated post for Mother's Day.
