Women Wednesday: Cathy Lee Crosby As Wonder Woman

Before the beautiful Lynda Carter portrayed the WWII era Wonder Woman in 1975, there was Cathy Lee Crosby as the modernized Amazon Princess in 1974. They made her a super spy and gave her costume a complete overhaul. For those too young to remember, Cathy Lee Crosby was a professional tennis player and co-hosted That's Incredible from 1980 to 1984. I remember watching the pilot movie when it originally aired and I remember that it had it's moments but was best forgotten mostly because she was a blonde.

Warner Archive Collection will be releasing Wonder Woman - The Cathy Lee Crosby Pilot DVD on December 11, 2012 just in time for Christmas:

Say Goodbye To Bazooka Joe Comic Strips

For they will be replaced by puzzles and brain teasers according to Bazooka Joe Character Chewed Up And Spit Out By Topps, Inc., After 59 Years. It has been a while since I last had any Bazooka Joe for it has been hard to find in the local stores. I always enjoyed the comic strips but never enjoyed the hard as a rock gum.

Thrift Store Finds: Superman Mugs From 2006

I found two different Superman mugs from 2006 for a dollar each at a local thrift store on Saturday morning. I grabbed them up as soon as I spotted them on the shelf for finding anything with the Man of Steel around here seems to be rare nowadays. Both mugs are white with comic images so the blue tint is because I used a blue background instead of my usual white.

The first Superman mug has him in two different poses with one side showing him charging with his arms spread out:

The other side shows the Man of Steel with his arms crossed and looking like he hasn't had his coffee yet:

The second Superman mug only has one side of him flying with a determined look on his face:

The other side shows his familiar chest symbol:

The bottom of both Superman mugs shows that they were made in 2006 by Monogram:

Familiar Super Suit At Vampire Wars

Vampire Wars has two fabled abilities in their Sacred Halls: Freedom to Fly and Insane Strength. Both picture a familiar super suit but with a V instead of a S. I love the artwork depicting Vampireman:

Twinkies Ad Featuring Batman And The Mummy

With the news of Hostess Brands closing for good, this seems like a good time to take a look at an ad for Twinkies featuring Batman and the Mummy from The Joker #1 (May 1975):

Yes, I ate my fair share of Twinkies while growing up and they will be missed.
