T-shirt Thursday: A Nightmare on Elm Street Claw T-shirt

I picked up this A Nightmare on Elm Street Claw claw t-shirt at the local Walmart's on Monday. The regular price was $8.98 but I got it for two dollars. I picked up another one for my sister who loves the original Freddy Krueger. I would have picked up another one for me but they only had two in XXL. It has the phase "Ready or not here I come" in red in the lower right-hand corner. The t-shirt has Freddy Krueger's claw and bloody claw marks. I'll be wearing this all year long and not just for Halloween.

Goodnight Gene Hackman

More sad news for Hollywood legend Gene Hackman dies aged 95, the Oscar-winning star of Superman, The French Connection, and Unforgiven. He was found yesterday along with his wife Betsy Arakawa, 63, and their dog. He will always be Lex Luthor to me and he will be greatly missed.

I knew it was coming since Disney Movie Insiders closed down a few months ago. Now Marvel Insider is closing down for I received the following email earlier today:

Since launching Marvel Insider in 2016, millions of fans have made Marvel theirs by earning and redeeming points for a variety of unique rewards, from comics to games and more. We are deeply grateful for your membership since 2023. Now, we must bring this chapter to a close.

The Marvel Insider program will sunset on March 3, 2025. After that date, you will no longer be able to earn points. You still will be able to redeem rewards through May 27, 2025.

T-shirt Tuesday: Believe in Yourself Deadpool T-shirt

I usually do T-shirt Thursdays, but I couldn't wait to show off one of my finds yesterday (I could have done a Marvel Monday, but I digress). The local Walmart's has a bunch of t-shirts on sale for two dollars. The Believe in Yourself Deadpool t-shirt was originally $8.98. I would have gotten two, but they only had one in XXL. I guess you could say that this is belated birthday and Valentine's Day present to myself.

Elvira and Conan at Universal Studios

The picture below is from my Elvira scrapbook and I believe I clipped it out of a local Kansas newspaper in 1985. Elvira is shown in the arms of Conan (Richard Brose). The Adventures of Conan the Barbarian: A Sword and Sorcery Spectacular ran from 1983 to 1993 at Universal Studios. I did a Google Lens search but couldn't find an exact match. Check out the cool dragon.

Batman's New Look Coming in September 2025

Batman is getting new costume coming in September 2025 according to ComicsPRO ’25: Matt Fraction and Jorge Jiménez relaunch BATMAN ongoing series this September. He will be going back to the classic blue and gray colors. There will also be a new Batmobile and so much more.

Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire #1 Cover A

Dark Horse Comics released Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire #1 this week. This will be a four-issue mini series that follows Eddie Munson's rise to de facto leader of the Hellfire Club. The story jumps back and forth from 1978 and 1985. I still have yet to watch an episode of the Stranger Things tv series but I used to play Dungeons & Dragons so this is a must have.

Women Wednesday: Elvira and Harley Quinn Team Up Announced

Exciting news for DC's Harley Quinn and Elvira, The Mistress of the Dark Pair Up. The big event is scheduled for the summer of 2025. I can't wait to read this and I really hope the House of Mystery makes an appearance.

Bloodshot: The Official Movie Novelization

I found the Official Movie Novelization of Bloodshot in paperback book form at the local Dollar Tree last week. Not a bad find for $1.25 even though I miss the one dollar prices. I have seen the 2020 movie on cable that is based on the Valiant Comics character.
