Superhero City has been running a Lion's Pride special for the past week that reminds me a lot of ThunderCats. Not only can you pick up a new attack ability but also new avatar skins.
Welcome to Jamdin's blog about action figures, comic books, non-sports trading cards and other collectibles.

Cherry 7Up Antioxidant Red Skull Can
I broke down and picked up a case of the Cherry 7Up Antioxidant Red Skull last week. Drinking the soda straight is like drinking poison but having a lot of ice cuts down the horrible taste. Now I know why the villain was on this flavor.

Thrift Store Finds: Hang Climber Batman And Tall Robin Action Figures
We hit the local thrift stores this morning after I put in a few hours at the store. I found a five inch Brave and the Bold Hang Climber Batman from Mattel for fifty cents. He takes some time getting his feet just right in order for him to stand on his own. I was losing my patience so he is leaning in the pictures. His cape has a slit in it so the hang glider wing can be put on and his knees does not bend. The hang glider wing can also be put on Batman's elbow for an odd-looking shield.
I also picked up an oddly dressed nine inch Robin that Hasbro put out in 1998 for only a buck. He has a homemade purple felt cape and is missing his vest. The paint is worn is some places and his knees does not bend. I might just take the cape off and find a way to put a R on his chest before displaying him.

Women Wednesday: Adrianne Curry As Aeon Flux
Adrianne Curry dressed up as Aeon Flux for this year's Comic-Con. Unfortunately, she was kicked out due to the fact that her costume barely covers her bottom according to The Superficial (there are a lot more photos at the link).
I would be more worried about people coming up to the woman on Adrianne Curry's left and kicking her ass. I also hope that Alice never bent over while wearing that outfit.
Adrianne Curry did get her fanny covered with a red t-shirt while being kicked out of Comic-Con. A black t-shirt would have drawn less attention and would have looked better.

Lois Lane's Boyfriend Reminds Me Of Somebody Else
Jonathan Carroll makes his first appearance as Lois Lane's boyfriend in Superman #1 this September (yes, her and Clark Kent will no longer be married):
He reminds me of Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow as portrayed by Justin Hartley in Smallville:

7Up Captain America Can
I broke down and bought a case of 7Up just so I can get a can with Captain America's mug. I like the fact that the shield has red rings. Of course, this is part of the Rev Up with 7UP and Captain America sweepstakes.

Website Alert: Seth's Elvira Collection
I am always interested in fellow fans of Elvira so when I received an email from Seth telling me about his website, Seth's Elvira Collection, I just had to post about it. Not only does he have pictures of merchandise featuring the Mistress of the Dark ranging from advertising to videos but he also has a want list of items that he needs. Here is just a sample of what he has on his site:

Thrift Store Find: Rita's Wild Ride
My sister actually found a mysterious Burger King toy from 1999 at a local thrift store on Saturday and gave it to me. She had no clue as to what it was but I quickly said that it had to be based on Will Smith's Wild Wild West movie. I did some research online and quickly found out that the toy wagon is Rita's Wild Ride, which is number four in a set of six.
The movie is now out on Blue-ray and you can purchase a copy below (I recommend the movie mostly for Selma Hyek, who plays Rita):

Alphas
I greatly enjoyed tonight's premiere of SyFy's Alphas and I hope it lasts longer than a season. My favorite characters are Gary, Dr. Rosen and Rachel. I will be watching future episodes for sure.

A&W Root Beer Howard Stark Can
I had to make a quick trip to the local grocery store since I forgot eggs yesterday at Wally World. I spotted a twelve pack of A&W Root Beer promoting the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger movie. This is part of the Rev Up with 7UP and Captain America sweepstakes. The A&W Root Beer cans all sported Howard Stark's mug. He is the founder of Stark Industries and the father of Tony aka Iron Man. In the movie, he is portrayed by Dominic Cooper
After doing a quick search online while drinking the contents of the can, I found that 7UP is putting out a five can set. Howard Stark is on A&W Root Beer cans while Captain America is on 7UP cans. Hames "Bucky" Barnes is on Sunkist Orange cans while the Red Skull is on 7UP Cherry Antioxidant cans. Finally, Peggy Carter is on Canada Dry Ginger Ale cans

Free X-Force Archangel Action Figure Ad
Marvel Digital Comics is offering a free X-Force Archangel action figure when you purchase an annual subscription. He looks cool but I wonder why they did not choose a Captain America action figure for the promo since his movie is coming out this month. I have always liked Archangel but never really cared for X-Force.
