The first official picture of Chris Hemsworth as the Thunder God is circulating at various sites so here he is:
I am reserving judgment until I see him in action.
Welcome to Jamdin's blog about action figures, comic books, non-sports trading cards and other collectibles.

Goodnight Travis Morgan
Word is out that Travis Morgan dies in The Warlord #12. You can read the summery here. Oh My God! You Killed Morgan is an interesting article with an interview by the character's creator, Mike Grell. To be honest, I have not bought any issues of the new series mostly because there is no local comic book store. Word is also out that the series is set to be canceled after #16.
Here is the cover artwork for The Warlord #12 by Mike Grell:

Website Alert: The Warlord
The Warlord is a website devoted to my favorite fantasy character from DC Comics. You will find articles, cover galleries, issue summaries and toys (I never knew about the Galaxy Racer and water guns). If you are a fan of Travis Morgan, then you might want to check the site out.

This Jack Kirby pin-up features Captain America as he would appear in the wild west and originally appeared in Marvel Treasury Special - Captain America's Bicentennial Battles (1976):

Thrift Store Find: Balancing Superman
This balancing Superman was one of five toys found in Burger King's kid meals in 1997. The toys were based on the Superman: The New Adventures cartoon series. I found him for fifty cents at a local thrift store a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, he is missing the Daily Planet building top that he balances on and a few scratches in the paint. Finding Burger King's toys are rather rare since the nearest one is about a hundred miles away.

A New Look For Robin
This page of fan art featuring different Robin costumes is from Batman #259 (November/December 1974):
I actually like the top costume especially the black and red design on the chest and torso sections.

Human Target Season Finale
Tonight was the first season finale for Human Target featuring Amy Acker, who played Fred from Angel, and Lee Majors, who played Steve Austin from The Six Million Dollar Man. All I can say is what an exciting episode it was and I cannot wait until season two.

Fourth Level Fighter by Faun Wald
Fourth level Fighter is a free song download from Faun Wald that is pretty cool. Fantasy fans and gamers will definitely want to check it out. Be sure to check out their artist page for more great songs (I really like "Raina and the Rose" and "Shay La Lay").

Thrift Store Find: McDonald's Lego Batmobile
I actually found this McDonald's Lego batmobile a few weeks ago for fifty cents. The front missile is missing and the wings are not even (they can be fixed with a little work). I like the little Batman figure that you can see in the cockpit. This was number five in the set (I have the batboat and the Joker helicopter). If I had the missile, I would probably give the McDonald's Lego batmobile a 9 out of ten but it gets an 8 without it because it is still a cool toy.

Facebook Game: Villains
I started playing Villains, a Facebook game earlier this evening. I like the artwork for the female villains over the male villains. I chose the werewolf and decided to name him Crimson Claw. I hit level two in about five minutes.
35,000 Milestone
Moongem Comics has hit the 35,000 visitors mark. Alison Angel seems to still be the number one reason why people are coming here but Elvira is now in the top five.

Women Wednesday: Wonder Woman Spice Incense
I thought that this Wonder Woman Spice Incense was a joke until I found that Amazon is also selling a limited quantity of them. One pack has twenty sticks and the front says "You can win your battle for freedom, democracy, and woman-kind thru-out the world." One pack has twenty sticks and they were originally released in 2008.

Women of Marvel Magazine
Ms Marvel graces the cover of the Women of Marvel magazine (Spring 2010). The issue has a mix of articles, pin ups and comic reprints that celebrates seven decades of women from Timely/Marvel Comics. The first article is titled "Witches, Widows and Warrior Women" by Robert Greenberger that is a retrospective of Marvel's females through the decades. That is followed by the first appearance of the Black Widow from Timely's Mystic Comics #4. The next article is titled "Female Creators Through the Ages" by Robert Greenberger. A Q&A with Flo Steinberg and "Bring on the Bad Girls" by Valerie D'Orazio follows.
A reprint of Tales of Suspense #52 that features the first modern appearance of Black Widow against Iron Man is included. Sarah Jaffe then interviews editor Jeanine Schaefer about Girl Comics, a new anthology title featuring tales of Marvel super heroes created entirely by women. There is even a two page preview of Girl Comics featuring Doctor Octopus grocery shopping. A reprint of Savage She-Hulk #1 follows. Will Panzo writes about "America's Next Top Mutant Model" and "X-Love". A reprint of The Uncanny X-Men #201 is next. Finally, Kiel Phegley takes a look at "The Unstoppable Spider-Girl". The last page states that Marvel will be celebrating their greatest super heroines with one-short specials that features X-23, Sif, Firestar, Dazzler, Rescue, Namora, Lady Deadpool, Spitfire and Valkyrie. There will also be variant covers by Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic that spotlights the Women of Marvel.

Official First Avenger: Captian America Cast
Chris Evans will be playing Steve Rogers aka Captain America while Sebastian Stan will be Bucky Barnes in the First Avenger: Captain America movie that is slated to be released on July 22, 2011. This will not be the first comic book movie for Evans since he played Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies. He also appears in The Losers, which is based on a comic from DC Comics, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, which is based on the Oni Press character.
Iron Man 2 Novel
I noticed the Iron Man 2 novel by Alexander Irvine (Grand Central Publishing, April 2010) in our local Super Wally World last weekend. I had to do some errands yesterday and decided to pick it up. The store also has action figures based on the movies but I will probably not be getting them since I never bought any from the first movie. I have to face the fact that I do not have the money or the room for all the toys that I would like to get.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century #16
The cover of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (May 1982) from Whitman, an imprint of Western Publishing Company, has our hero being sold to the highest bidder in the slaver's market. B. S. Watson wrote "The Seller of Souls" while Mike Roy inked and penciled. He befriends a few of the alien slaves including a small furball named Jamel from the planet Erion. Of course, he manages a breakout and defeats the alien slavers.
