Happy Thanksgiving
I am wishing everyone in the United States a happy and safe Thanksgiving this year. The following artwork was used for the cover of JSA #54 done by Carlos Pacheco (pencils; signed), Jesus Merino (inks; signed) and J.D.Mettler (colors). I did add the text.

Thrift Store Find: McDonald's Lightning Lad
Put me down on the list of not getting any of the Legion of Super Heroes toys when they originally came with McDonald's Happy Meals a few years ago. The action figures were based on the cartoon show. I found a Lightning Lad figure still in the original box this morning at a local thrift store for twenty-five cents. A trading card still in the plastic came with it. The figure itself does not stand on its own but I do like the box and card.

Michael Shanks As Hawkman
TV Guide Magazine's Hawkman Swoops Into Smallville has the following first look at Michael Shanks in costume as Hawkman:
The costume is based on the current version of the Winged Wonder. The helmet does look a lot better than the one that was worn by Bill Nuckols on the 1979's tv special, Legends of the Superheroes:
Yes, that's Black Canary (Danuta Rylko Soderman) and Captain Marvel (Garrett Craig) in the picture with him.

The Warlord Van
Now this van featuring the Warlord would have been a cool to have in the 1970s:

Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths Trailer
The trailer for the next animated movie from DC Comics titled Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths with Mark Harmon as Superman and Billy Baldwin as Batman can be watched here. I would have embedded the video but it messes up the look of my blog.

Ghoultown's Mistress of the Dark CD/DVD
Here is the front cover of Ghoultown's Mistress of the Dark CD/DVD along with a promo ad featuring art and pictures of Elvira:
And here are they lyrics of the song:
Mistress of the Dark
raven hair and red lips
subtle wicked smile
the way you lay across that velvet
I really love your style
your legs go on forever
electrifying thrill
what I wouldn't give for one night
to climb those haunted hills
you're givin' me the chills
your black dress is drivin' me wild
elvira
elvira
mistress of the dark
you'll always be my mistress
the queen of halloween
haunting every midnight
on my tv screen
and if I die tomorrow
or a zombie eats my brain
I'd raise myself up from the dead
just to sing your name

Last Friday's Comics
Last Friday, I had to take a road trip out of town for a doctor's appointment (I will be needing trigger finger surgery for my left middle finger in a few weeks). I stopped in at Hastings afterward and picked up several used comics for ninety-nine cents each. Most of the titles were from Marvel Comics but I did find a few from DC Comics I have no pictures but here is a list of comics that I picked up:
Booster Gold (first series) #21
52 #48
Silverblade #2
Superman #29
Team Titans #1
Anita Blake Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures #6
Dark Tower: Gunslinger Born #2 and 3
Cloak & Dagger #3, 8, 9 and 11
Mutant Misadventures of Cloak & Dagger #2, 3, 4, 5 and 7
