Wolverine DVD Display Header
I had to tear down the X-Men Origins: Wolverine<> DVD display stand yesterday at my offline job at a local discount store. I had to take the entire load out to the trash bin but I managed to put the header in a corner so I could find it again after getting off work. I would have liked to have kept the whole display as well but the department head was watching to make sure I tore it down. I would not have room for the display anyway.

Thrift Store Finds: Superman Knightfall
I actually found these two items at two different thrift stores on Friday morning but I am just now getting around to posting about them. The Superman action figure has some wear on the paint and smells like crayons but it was only fifty cents. The Batman: Knightfall by Dennis O'Neil paperback book was had for a dollar and a half.

Super Heroes Mini Comic
Post Super Heroes Mini Comics And Game Cards
In 1980, Post cereal offered mini comics featuring DC Super Heroes in their cereal boxes. The only cereal that I remember getting them in is Super Sugar Crisp. I would have been fifteen at the time when this came out in the stores.
There were four mini comics in the set with each having sixteen pages. I managed to get a complete set plus an extra one featuring the Super Heroes. Each measure 3 1/4" x 4 1/4" (however, there were some that not cut exactly to size). The mini comics include Super Heroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Robin) in "The Secret of the Sinister Lighthouse!", Batman in "The Joker's Last Laugh!", Superman in "Terra-Man's Skyway Robbery!" and Wonder Woman in "The Angle Menace!" There really should have been a fifth mini comic featuring Aquaman since he is featuring in "The Secret of the Sinister Lighthouse!" Robin is not only in the Super Heroes adventure but also in the Batman one.
Each of the mini comics came with a instant winner game card. The game cards measure 2 1/2" x 3 1/4". There are six stars that you must scratch off and match with the top star. The prizes included a trip to Hollywood, bicycle, kite, comic book and flying disc. The prize box is located in the lower right hand corner and none of mine were winners. What I like about these game cards is that not only does the big guns appear but also some Golden Age super heroes like Dr. Mid-Nite, Flash and Green Lantern. Batgirl and Captain Marvel also appear. I did find it odd that the Riddler is one of my game cards. I do not five game cards because I remember getting two featuring Robin at the top (I either used it for something else or tossed it).

3 Pack Comics Breakdown
While at Hastings on Thursday, I bought ten 3 pack comics for $2.99 each. That would add up to thirty comics for $29.90. I knew that I was going to get some repeats since I could see the outer two comics but not the middle one. I ended up with the following: two Action Comics #687, one Archie's Ten Issue Collector's Set #6 (Jughead), four Barbie and Baby Sister Kelly #1, two Batman & Robin Adventures #9, one G.I. Joe #3 (Dark Horse), one Heroes #4 (Milestone and not the one based on the tv series), one Hex #15, one Icon #6, one Kamandi At Earth's End #2, one Koosh Kins #1, one Legion of Super-Heroes #6, one Legion of Super-Heroes #7, one L.E.G.I.O.N. '90 #11, one L.E.G.I.O.N. '94 #65, one The Masked Man #3, one Robin #19, one Superman #78, two Superman #102, three Superman: The Man of Steel #22, two Superman: The Man of Steel #45 and one Venom: The Madness #3. I ended up with twenty-one titles and nine copies. I am not sure what I am going to do with the copies yet but if any of the readers want any, just let me know by leaving me a comment.
Here are the pictures of the twenty-one titles (click for larger pictures):
