I do not have any Barbie Dolls but my younger sister does and still enjoys getting one every now and then. I doubt that she will be getting the Barbie Collector Medusa Doll anytime soon because the price tag is $599.95 at Amazon.

Halloween Countdown 2010 Day 10: Gunwitch: The Outskirts of Doom

Gunsmith: The Outskirts of Doom was a three issue mini series that Oni Press released in 2001. The covers were done by Daniel Brereton and Ted Naifeh (the former wrote the series while the latter inked the interior). The resurrected gunslinger is part scarecrow and part zombie. Eve was also featured in this series that was a spin off from The Nocturnals.

I am not at all familiar with X23 from Marvel Comics. I think she's Wolverine's daughter or perhaps his twin. I do know that Mike Mayhew did a variant cover for X23 #2 for which you can buy the original 11x17 artwork here. You can find a three page preview of the issue at Comic Book Resources.

Moongem Comics Hits Seventy Thousand Visitors

Thanks everyone for helping Moongem Comics hit seventy thousand (actually 70,311 when I noticed it). Halloween Countdown 2010 Day 2: Dark Shadows Magic Slates

In 1969, Whitman produced two Magic Slates based on ABC's Dark Shadows gothic soap opera that sold for thirty-nine cents apiece. One clearly features Barnabas Collins while the other features the Collinwood mansion. In the 1990s, they were reproduced so well that "copy" was printed in red near the price to keep people from selling them as the originals. I have neither but I remember playing with a Batman Magic Slate when I was a boy in the 1970s (unfortunately, I never saved it or took a picture of it).

Halloween Countdown 2010 Day 1: Hot Wheels Ghostbusters Ecto-1

Seems fitting to start the first day of the Halloween Countdown 2010 with the Hot Wheels version of Ghostbusters Ecto-1. I actually found this at a local store several weeks ago and I grabbed it since I missed out on the version that Johnny Lightning put out a few years ago as part of their Fright'ning Lightings line.

Comics Continuum has the first look of Laura Vandervoort as Kara in costume in the October 8 episode of Smallville titled "Supergirl" (yes, she gets her costume before her cousin does):

Teri Hatcher, who played the woman reporter on ABC's Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman will be coming to WB's Smallville as Lois Lane's mother according to this Comics Alliance article.

Goodbye WildStorm

Wow, this DC ENTERTAINMENT ENDS WILDSTORM, RESTRUCTURES is big news as the imprint ends in December. I have only a handful of WildStorm comics with the majority of them from the 1990s.

Hostess Cakes Justice League

Hostess Cakes Justice League shows The Flash Cakes and (Green Lantern) GloBalls that you can hand out for Halloween. The site also has a contest with a grand prize of a million dollars. Fifty players will win a one year subscription from DC Comics and fifty players will win a copy of the Superman/Batman: Apocalypse DVD. After October 25, you have a chance to be the hero of your own DC Comic book cover.

This brings back memories of those old Hostess comic book ads from the 1970s that had the superheroes eating Twinkies and other treats.
