Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special

Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special came out this week from DC Comics.

Here's the official summery: "In the wake of the We Are Yesterday crossover epic, a mysterious Quantum Quorum has emerged… stalked by a lethal enemy that takes no prisoners. The League deputizes a rag tag group of time displaced heroes like Batman Beyond, Gold Beetle, and Helena Wayne to fill the void left behind by the Time Masters and save the quorum from the mysterious threat that’s picking off time-travelers one by one. These Legends of Tomorrow are the only ones standing in the way of this cascading chronal Armageddon with the past, present, and future teetering on the brink in this oversized special leading to the next big DC All In event!"

The front cover features Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Booster Gold, Gold Beetle, the Huntress and Batman Beyond. Batman and Superman does not appear in this special and Wonder Woman only appears briefly. Mister Terrific, the Atom, Red Tornado and Supergirl also appear briefly. This issue introduces a new name and look for an existing superhero that goes by the name of Legend.

Legend, Gold Beetle, Air Wave and Amazing Man are joined by a ragtag crew of misplaced in time heroes that include Batman Beyond, Marilyn Moonlight, the Huntress and Jonah Hex. Plastic Man also shows up and joins the team.

Monster High: World's Scare #1 from IDW Publishing is out today.

Here's the spooky summery found on the back cover: "Surprise, ghouls — I'm baaack. Did you miss me? For those unacquainted, let me reintrobooce myself. I'm Monster High's purrmiere gossip account, CryptCrier. I know everything and everyghoul. And here is my juiciest piece of gossip yet: IDW is bringing readers a faboolous new miniseries from fang favorites Jacque Aye and Caroline Shuda, starting with a double-sized first issue. Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf, Cleo de Nile, and Lagoona Blue are starting a new scaremester at Monster High, so this is a creeperific jumping-on point for new fangs. How eekciting. This year, the World's Scare is in New Salem! The brightest minds are gathering to exhibit their latest breakthroughs that could change monster-kind furever. And Monster High's very own Frankie Stein is dreaming up something monstrous to honor her late father, Headmaster Frankenstein. Women Wednesday: Vampirella: Armageddon #1 Cover Gallery

Vampirella: Armageddon #1 (2025) hits the newsstands today. Here is the official summery: "Return to the future world of Vampirella and Sepulcher City in Vampirella: Armageddon, from Vampirella writer Tom Sniegoski and artist Kewber Baal! Picking up from where our last series (Vampirella Strikes!) left off, Vampirella faces internal and external forces of chaos as a new threat arrives to stare her down! A threat… not of this mortal plane!"

Of course, there are several variant covers to collect. One of my favorite covers is the Universal Monsters cover by Mark Spears since it has Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Wolfman, the Mummy and the Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Goodnight Ozzy Osbourne

Sad news for Ozzy Osbourne dies weeks after farewell show at the age of seventy-six. I first read the news on Facebook earlier this afternoon and thought it was another hoax but it looks legit. He will be greatly missed but he will live forever in music.

Super Sunday: Superman Unlimited #3

Superman Unlimited #3 dropped last week and here's the summery: "When the towering terror of Toyman once again terrorizes the streets of Metropolis, Superman and Krypto are on hand to save the day — but in this new world of Kryptonite, even the murdering machinations of Toyman are supercharged with Superman’s Achilles’ heel! It’s a twisted turn of events as the Man of Steel uncovers a game-changing new use for this deadly substance, and it has the capacity to save the world? Plus: Jimmy Olsen moves to Gotham (careful, Jimmy), Tee-Nah of Gorilla City tries to fix Steve Lombard’s laptop (careful, Tee-Nah), and Intergang floods the streets — all in the latest installment of the emerald epic you’ll have to read to believe!"

Science Fiction Saturday: Lucky Charms Featuring Invisible Woman

I picked up a box of Lucky Charms featuring Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman a week ago at the local Walmart's. This is another General Mills cereal promoting the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps movie. While I like the jumbo rainbows in the cereal, I'm not crazy about the artwork since Sue has no mouth or nose.

The back of the Lucky Charms box has the entire Fantastic Four, which includes Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic and Ben Grimm aka the Thing. Yes, the FantastiCar is also shown. There is also a hidden message and a decorder. It's a different message than the one found on the Honey Nut Cheerios Featuring Human Torch box.

The other two General Mills cereal boxes promoting the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie are Cinnamon Toast Crunch featuring Mister Fantastic and Reese's Puffs featuring the Thing. I won't be getting those boxes because I'm not a fan of those cereals and I don't want to be stuck eating them.

Fantastic Friday: Blue Raspberry PopTarts Featuring Fantastic Four

I actually found a box of the Blue Raspberry PopTarts promoting the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie a few weeks ago at the local Walmart's. I ate them last week and found the flavor is much stronger and sweeter than the Frosted Strawberry PopTarts. The front of the box features the Fantastic Four that includes Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, Ben Grimm aka the Thing and Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman.

The back of the box features five of the eight different images on the PopTarts. I finally got one with the Invisible Woman on it. Unfortunately, the images were still blurry.

Warning: You may have problems with the blue dye used in the Blue Raspberry PopTarts several hours later (if you know what I mean, then you know). I had problems after the first two but not with the rest of the package.

Honey Nut Cheerios Featuring Human Torch

General Mills promoted Fantastic Four: First Steps with several of their cereals. The Honey Nut Cheerios box has Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch. The artwork is a retro design but I would rather have images from the Marvel movie.

The back features the entire Fantastic Four that includes the Invisible Woman, the Thing, Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic and the Human Torch. The FantastiCar is shown but no sign of H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot. There is also a hidden message with a decoder.

Fantastic Friday: Fantastic Four #1 (2025)

Yep, Marvel released a new Fantastic Four #1 earlier this week. Susan Storm aka the Invisible Woman stands in the center of the cover with Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic and Ben Grimm aka the Thing around her. Doctor Doom...er, Emperor Doom appears at the beginning of the issue.

Here's the summery: "The Fantastic Four return with a new issue #1, kicking off a whole new volume of their adventures through time, space, science, and the human condition! When the Fantastic Four take on Doom, things go well until they suddenly go catastrophically wrong — and they’re sent to four different eras in Earth’s history! Alone and isolated in wildly different time periods, Reed, Johnny, Ben, and Sue all have to fight to survive. Their only hope is to reach the Forever Stone: a mass of dense granite that happens to be one of the longest-lasting rocks on the planet, which — through a combination of obscurity and raw geological luck — has stayed both intact and accessible for most of Earth’s history!"

Women Wednesday: Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #1 and #2

DC Comics released Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #1 last month and here's the official summery: "Back by popular demand and now with her own miniseries... Trinity! It all begins when the daughter of Wonder Woman embarks on her most dangerous adventure yet to enter the timeline to find her father. As the young hero knows, messing with time has its consequences, but that doesn't mean she learned her lesson the first time. Things are about to get ruff and the Super Sons have gone to the dogs. Prepare for a Crisis of Infinite Corgis!"

Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #2 comes out today and here's the official summery: "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?! With the timestream broken and doggos on the loose, the teenage Trinity, a.k.a. Wonder Girl, travels to the Gotham of the past to capture the elusive bat-corgi. There, she’ll encounter the greatest Robin of them all (according to him)… Jason Todd! Will the boy and girl wonders be able to put their differences aside and find the pup before it’s too late?"

Superhero Sunday: Captain America #1 (2025)

Yes, Marvel has come out with a new Captain America series starting with a new number and was released last week. Iron Man and the Fantastic Four briefly appears. Here's the summery and cover for Captain America #1 (2025): "While Captain America slumbered in ice, the world changed — for better and for worse. Steve Rogers awakens to a reality where battles are fought in the shadows through secrets and subterfuge, and villains aren't so easy to identify. When a fledgling dictator named Victor Von Doom conquers Latveria, Steve faces a critical decision: adapt to a new kind of warfare, or forge his own path? And what will the choice he makes in the past mean for his future?"

Fantastic Friday: Fantastic Four People Ads

First off, I would like to wish everyone a safe and fantastic Fourth of July.

People magazine, cover dated July 14, 2025, has several ads for the Fantastic Four: First Steps movie. Ben Grimm, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and H.E.R.B.I.E appear on a fake cover:

There is a great ad for H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot:

My favorite is the ad for the FantasiCar (I really hope Hot Wheels make one):

Hot Wheels Batman 5-Pack 2023

I found this Hot Wheels Batman 5-Pack at the local Walmart's last week but didn't pick it up until this Tuesday. There's a Batmobile, one police car, two villain vehicles and a Batcopter. My camera decided to act up so I didn't get a picture of the box's back, but I did manage get one of the front:

The first three diecast cars include Arkham Asylum Batmobile, Gotham City Boom Box and Harley Quinn Hi-Roller:

The last two vehicles include the Joker Power Pistons (the engine cover and top are transparent green and look really cool) and the all blue Batcopter:

DC Comics released Gotham City Sirens: Unfit for Orbit #1 today and here's the summery: "There’s a hot new outer space-themed nightclub in Gotham City, and who better to rob it than Catwoman, Ivy, and Harley? But there’s more to this intergalactic discotheque than meets the eye(s), as the Sirens discover when they stumble headfirst into a plot to destroy the entire planet led by the club’s owner — the alien despot Despero! I hope you have good insurance, Gotham City, because you’re about to get wrecked. Special appearances by deadly DJs, hunky alien hotties, dancers dressed as aliens, mutant failures, one wild UFO, and lots and lots of fire!"
