If you haven't been reading Archie is Mr. Justice series, then you should. Each issue spotlights the different relationships that being a superhero brings. The first issue focuses on Jughead and Archie's relationship. There is also a cool alternative cover paying homage to the very first Superman cover on DC Comics' Action Comics #1.

DC Comics released Power Girl #20 (2025) today and it's the final issue of that series. Karen Starr has triumphantly returned to Metropolis. Summer of Superman Special #1

Happy Superman Day 2025 for Action Comics #1 was published eighty-seven years ago today on April 18, 1938). To celebrate that and the fact that the movie, Superman: Legacy, will be released this summer, DC Comics dropped Summer of Superman Special #1 this week. The story sets up what's to come and I can't wait.

Superboy and Krypto appears in the first part of the story that basically focuses on his relationship with Lana Lang. The second part deals with her wedding with John "Steel" Irons.

Women Wednesday: Catwoman #75 Cover

DC Comics dropped Catwoman #75 today and the cover rocks the original sins of Selina Kyle. Unfortunately, I can say that the intererior rocks as much but it's a good story.

DC vs. Vampires: World War V #8

I can't believe that Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 15: DC vs. Vampires: World War V #3 was my last post about the horror series. DC vs. Vampires: World War V #8 is now out and the cover features Ra's al Ghul wearing Batman's costume. John Constantine joins several magic users trapped in the House of Mystery. Deadman possesses a baby and speaks to Ra's al Ghul aka BatGhul and Green Lantern Alfred Pennyworth.

Fire & Ice: When Hell Freezes Over #1 from DC Comics is a sequel to Fire & Ice: Welcome To Smallville. The issue starts in New Kooey, Kansas, which is "a landlocked tropical island five miles from Smallville." The hair saloon called The Mane Event is on fire thanks to Ice Sneezing. Fire tries to put it out with her ice powers but the robot, L-Ron, shows up with a fire extinguisher. Yes, you read that right for the Amazo robots had switched their powers. Zatanna, Black Canary, Doctor Light and Martha Kent also appear. If you enjoyed Fire & Ice: Welcome To Smallville then you will like Fire & Ice: When Hell Freezes Over.

Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons: The Rise of Hellfire #2 is finally out from Dark Horse Comics. I'm still digging the story jumping back and forth between 1979 and 1985. I still have yet to watch a single episode of Stranger Things.

Absolute Green Lantern #1

I read Absolute Green Lantern from DC Comics last night. Hal Jordan is not the ring bearer this time around. He is best friends with John Stewart and Sojourner "Jo" Mullein. Jo ends up becoming Green Lantern while Hal becomes the Black Hand (he's not called that, but he does have a black hand). Abin Sur appears briefly but I'm sure we'll see more of him in future issues (he's not wounded and looks very alien-like). Guy Gardner is mentioned by his first name, but you can kind of guess that's who they are talking about. An interesting beginning and I can't wait until the next issue.

Goodnight Val Kilmer

Sad news for Val Kilmer, film star known for ‘Top Gun,’ ‘Batman Forever’ and ‘Tombstone,’ dead at 65. He passed away from pneumonia on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. In addition to the previous mention movies, he also starred in Willow, The Doors, The Saint, Tombstone and so many more.
