Countdown to Halloween 2026 Day 26: Monster Mash #1
Bloodcurler Comics put out Monster Mash #1 as a one-shot in the mid-1960s and is mostly forgotten even among old-time readers. The cover features Frankenstein's monster, Dracula, the Mummy and the Wolfman on their way to a jam session. There is also a blurb stating that Frankenstein will meet the Phantom in the next issue but that was never published as far as we know. Thanks to Grok for digging up this "lost" issue for this week's Monster Monday post.

Women Wednesday: Harley Quinn X Elvira #4 Covers
Harley Quinn X Elvira #4 comes out today from DC Comics and Dynamite. Once again, the main cover artists are Amanda Conner, Chad Hardin, Joseph Michael Linsner and Ben Caldwell. The interior art was done by Amanda Conner and Juan Samu. The story was written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti. Here is the official summary:
"OUT OF THE FRYING PAN AND INTO THE FIRE! With things getting too hot to handle back in Brooklyn, Elvira and Harley abscond to the cooler climes of Transylvania to crash with one of Elvira’s best buddies in his tastefully appointed castle. But despite their reputation as old-school hedonists, the Count’s already-invited guests don’t much care for this pair of interlopers — and they’ve got some decidedly medieval ideas for how to deal with party crashers!"
Note: This my 260th Elvira post.

Monster Monday: King Dracula #1 and #2
Here are the covers and summaries for King Dracula #1 and #2 from Zenescope Entertainment:
"Beneath the streets of New York, the notorious Lord of Vampires plots to regain his rightful place atop his kingdom. But much has changed during his absence...the Vampire Lords, a ruthless cabal of powerful elders, have staked their claim upon the world, and they have no fear of their former leader–or anyone else. As Dracula begins to claw his way back to the top, he finds an ally in the mysterious and deadly Blood Countess. But will she prove to be friend or foe?"
"Reinvigorated but still hunted, Dracula emerges from the sewers of New York City, ready to take back the world that was so ruthlessly stolen from him. But he realizes the Vampire Lords’ control has grown even deeper into the roots of society in his absence, and new dangers lurk at every turn. But desperate times call for desperate measures, so he seeks an unlikely ally who despises him more than any other...his daughter!"

Zenescope Entertainment celebrated the spooky season by releasing Grimm Fairy Tales: 2025 Halloween Pinup Special last week. I'm posting about it today as this week's Women Wednesday post. There are various alternative covers with Cover A featuring Gretal as a witch. Cover B features Cinderalla wearing a devil costume and Cover C features Liesel Van Helsing as a demonic steampunk vampire.

Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 2: Archie's Halloween Spectacular #1
Archie Comics continues to celebrate 80 years and the spooky season with Archie's Halloween Spectacular #1. This one-shot comes out today and the cover by Dan Parent features Archie as a vampire, Jughead as a mummy, Veronica as a witch, Betty as a prom queen and Medusa Doom (she doesn't appear in any of the stories inside this issue). There is an alternate cover featuring Archie along with Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula and the Mummy. The original story is "Trick or Treat" featuring the South Side Serpents (Toni, Weasel, Termite, Fangs and Daisy). Other stories include "One Prank Too Far" with the Archie gang and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Betty and Veronica in "That's the Spirit!", "Ruff Halloween", "It Ghost to Show You", "The Ghostest with the Mostest". Werewolf by Night: Blood Moon Rise Special
Marvel released Werewolf by Night: Blood Moon Rise one-shot special this week. It's loosely based on the tv special.
Here's the official summery: "From the director of the critically-acclaimed Marvel Studios Special Presentation WEREWOLF BY NIGHT, MICHAEL GIACCHINO, comes a first-of-its kind tale of terror in the Marvel Universe with one goal in mind: to show you why WEREWOLF BY NIGHT is as captivating as ever, with over fifty years of comics history — and a hundred times as many bodies in his wake!"
This one-shot special has two stories. "Nail in the Coffin" has Jack Russell aka Werewolf by Night as a prisoner of Count Dracula and his first meeting with Man-Thing. "A Howling Nightmare" features Jack Russell, his younger sister Lissa aka the Were-Demon by Night and Jake Gomez aka another Werewolf by Night. The trio is known as the Wolf Pack by Night and they clash with Nightmare.

Women Wednesday: Vampirella: Armageddon #1 Cover Gallery
Vampirella: Armageddon #1 (2025) hits the newsstands today. Here is the official summery: "Return to the future world of Vampirella and Sepulcher City in Vampirella: Armageddon, from Vampirella writer Tom Sniegoski and artist Kewber Baal! Picking up from where our last series (Vampirella Strikes!) left off, Vampirella faces internal and external forces of chaos as a new threat arrives to stare her down! A threat… not of this mortal plane!"
Of course, there are several variant covers to collect. One of my favorite covers is the Universal Monsters cover by Mark Spears since it has Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Wolfman, the Mummy and the Creature of the Black Lagoon.

Marvel Avengers and Other Heroes #2 Magazine
I picked up this Marvel Avengers and Other Heroes #2 magazine at the local Dollar Tree this morning. The cover features Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and Count Dracula. Most of it is dedicated to the Marvel Avengers Secret Wars story titled "Wings in the Night!" The Avengers (Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Iron Man and Vision) battles Count Dracula as Chthon possesses his body. There are activities like mazes, match games, puzzles and how to draw. Members of the Guardians of the Galaxy only appear once on a match game page. Spider-Man and his friends also appear only once with a two-page crossword puzzle (this should have been devoted to the Avengers). Overall, the magazine is not bad for the price, but I have the feeling that I have read this story before.

Countdown to Halloween 2023 Day 3: Dracula Soltaire on Facebook
Facebook went through another game purge last month and I lost several of my favorite games (Candy Crush Saga and Hit It Rich! Casiono to name a few). There are not very many Halloween-related games either. However, there is Dracula Solitaire. I'm on level 31 and it's a fun way to kill some time. There is a story of sorts that involves finding different monsters. So far, I have found the lady vampire and the mummy.

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 27: Halloween Event at DesignVille
I have been playing DesignVille: Merge & Design on Facebook throughout the year so I knew they did seasonal events. Their Halloween event this year is pretty cool with Louise dressed up as a witch while Robin is dressed up as Dracula. You get to collect pumpkins in the main game that turn into jack o'lanterns that you can use to decorate the outside of the studio. I finally made it up to level 3 and I'm hoping that I actually get to finish the online game's Halloween event.
DesignVille even has a special loading page featuring Louise as a witch that would make a cool desktop wallpaper:

Countdown to Halloween 2022 Day 25: Mergest Kingdom's Halloween Adventure
Mergest Kingdom started their annual Halloween Adventure on Monday, October 24th. I have played it a few times on Facebook but I don't think I'm going to be able to finish it in nine days. I have yet to finish any of the special events at Mergest Kingdom. Frankenstein's Monster is the first helper that you can get in order to collect lanterns (yes, they spelled it wrong):
You can even get Count Dracula to help out:
Other helpers include a witch (I have gotten her), a spooky skelton and a spooky scarecrow. There are also ghosts that will drop items when you click on them.

Marvel Ultimate Spider-Man Jumbo Coloring and Activity Book 2017
I picked up this Marvel Ultimate Spider-Man Jumbo Coloring and Activity Book from 2017 at the local Dollar Tree three days ago. This is a tie-in to the cartoon series and it shows with some of the character art. The front and back cover features two different poses of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Other superheroes include Nick Fury, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Nova and White Tiger. Villains include Wolf Spider, Hobgoblin, Venom, Rhino, Shocker and Dracula. There are also some alternate versions of Spider-Man like the Spider-Man Noir and Spider-Woman.

Countdown to Halloween 2020 Day 30: Monster Cereals 2020
You didn't think I would let this year's Countdown to Halloween pass without doing a post on the monster cereals from General Mills did you? The local Walmart's didn't stock the family size until October 18 but I had to take a road trip to see the out of town dentist on October 16. I found the normal size boxes at the Dillons Marketplace and picked up all three. All three has the same monster party scene on the back that also includes other cereal mascots and a certain doughboy from General Mills. Of course, none of the cereal boxes has a toy prize hidden inside.
I finished off Count Chocula cereal and still have a little Franken Berry left. Neither have that strong and sweet chocolate or strawberry taste that I remember from my childhood days in the 1970s. I haven't even opened the Boo Berry box yet.
Here is front and back of the Boo Berry Monster Cereal 2020 box:

Crafter's Square Halloween Ceramic Painting Sets
I picked up four Crafter's Square Halloween Ceramic Painting Sets at the Dollar Tree that opened just a few months ago. Each of them has a three inch tall unpainted ceramic figurine, three paint set and a paintbrush. Each figurine has a hook in the top of their heads with a loop of string. Unfortunately, the only paint colors are orange, purple and black. I couldn't resist them since they were a dollar each.
There is a Dracula Ceramic Painting Set:
There is a Frankenstein's Monster Ceramic Painting Set:
There is a Pumpkinhead Ceramic Painting Set:
Finally, there is a Witch Ceramic Painting Set:
