Hot Wheels HW City 2015 Batman Arkham Asylum Batmobile

I went to the local Dollar General to do some browsing earlier this afternoon and I was a little surprised that they had their shelves stocked with Valentine's Day merchandise already. I did pick up a few items that I will hopefully showcase in February. I also picked up the Hot Wheels HW City 2015 Batman Arkham Asylum Batmobile. This is a bit different than the Arkham Asylum Batmobile from Hot Wheels. The biggest difference is that this one has more of a matte black finish instead of the glossy black. The packaging is different too since this one belongs to the HW City series. The back of package is mostly devoted to the Hot Wheels Showdown scan & race game (there is a code to start the race but I have nothing to scan it with so it is pretty worthless to me). The bottom of the diecast car is black instead of chrome and has 2010 on it. The price was a whopping $1.30, which is still cheaper than their Hot Wheels Star Wars vehicles that are selling for five bucks.

Christmas Haul Part 5: Superman Words T-shirt

The final geek-related item that I received as a Christmas gift was this long sleeved Superman words t-shirt. As you can tell the s-shield is made up entirely of red and yellow words related to the Man of Steel. The long sleeves and collar are red while the rest is dark blue. There is no year or company printed on the t-shirt but it was made in Haiti and is an XL (46/48). It was purchased by my mother at the local Walmart for about ten dollars.

Christmas Haul Part 3: Hot Wheels Star Trek: Sulu

I received this Hot Wheels Star Trek: Sulu diecast car also for Christmas this year. It is the Midnight Otto with a cartoon picture of him on both sides and the Enterprise on the roof. The front of the package features Sulu saying "Captain! I'm picking up an object of planetary size on the sensors!"

The back of the package features a look at all of the vehicles in the series that includes: 1988 Jeep Wagoneer (Uhura), '49 Ford C.O.E (Kirk), Custom '52 Chevy (Scotty), '38 Dodge Airflow (McCoy), Midnight Otto (Sulu) and '59 Chevy Delivery (Spock):

Christmas Haul Part 1: Hot Wheels Black Widow

Along with the usual socks and underwear, I did receive some comic book-related Christmas presents. I will be posting them over the next few days instead of dumping them all in one post. First up is the Hot Wheels Black Widow from 2014, which is #18 in the series:

Countdown to Christmas 2015: Nords Hereos of the North

Merry Christmas to everyone. I have been playing Nords: Heroes of the North fantasy online game on Facebook a lot this month. I keep getting attacked because I only have two friends but it's fun to build up the fighting force and buildings.

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 24: Superman and Santa T-shirt

Christmas Eve falls on a Thursday this year so this is a good time to post a red t-shirt featuring Superman stuffing Santa Claus down a chimney. Actually, it's the cover of Action Comics #105 (February 1947). While it might be too late to get this in time for Christmas this year, you can always get it for next year.

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 21: Commander Decker Socks

I actually got these Commander Decker socks as a Christmas present in 1979:

I only wore them once because he was never my favorite character from Star Trek: The Motion Picture but my sister couldn't find Ilia or Spock socks. I'm surprised that I still have them tucked in the back of my sock drawer for all these years.

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 20: Mini Trix With PZ-4CO

I did manage to find a limited edition Star Wars: The Force Awakens version of Mini Trix with the silly rabbit dressed as Princess Leia:

The back of the cereal box features the same secret message from BB-8 that was found on the limited edition Honey Nut Cheerios box:

I found an all blue PZ-4CO droid viewer inside the box of cereal:

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 19: Star Wars Honey Nut Cheerios With BB-8

General Mills put out a limited edition Star Wars: The Force Awakens version of their cereals this year in time for Halloween. I didn't get them all before Halloween since our local Walmart's didn't carry them all and the ones they did carry didn't hit the shelves until the first week of November. The first one that I did pick up was Honey Nut Cheerios with Buzz dressed up as Darth Vader on the front:

The back of the box features a secret message from BB-8 plus a look at the six droid viewers found within the limited edition boxes:

I got lucky and ended up pulling an all orange BB-8 droid viewer from the box:

The name of BB-8 is on the back in case you didn't know which droid it was:

There is a peep hole on the bottom of the droid viewer so you can see a picture of BB-8 from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It works best if you point the top towards a very bright light source.

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 18: Animated Vixen Headed To Live Action Arrow

Yeah, everyone is buzzing about Star Wars: The Force Awakens today but I will not be seeing it on a big screen because this town still does not have a theater (the nearest one is thirty minutes away and I hate driving out of town after dark). The small screen buzz is that Megalyn Echikunwoke to Bring Animated Vixen to Life on CW’s Arrow. She’s likely to appear in the fifteenth episode this season which will air February 24th, 2016.

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 12: Captain America Pocket Pop Keychain

Christmas came early to me yesterday afternoon thanks to Disney Movie Rewards. They offered a Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron Captain America Pocket Pop Keychain for only 400 points. It was only available for a very limited time and I was able to snag one. He was made in Vietnam by Funko. Here is what he looks like still in the box:

He is very hard to stand up on his own with the keychain ring still attached. I still had trouble standing him up on his tiny feet even without it. He stands at 1 1/2" tall and he has a really loose bobble head. Here is what he looks like out of the box and without the keychain ring:

He will be displayed in the box next to the Iron Man Pocket Pop Keychain and the Hulk Pocket Pop Keychain that I also got from Disney Movie Rewards.

Countdown to Christmas 2015 Day 9: Scarlet Witch #1

I never said that all of the Christmas posts were going to be totally about the holiday. This is actually more of a Women Wednesday post for Countdown to Halloween but I couldn't do it back in October because The Scarlet Witch #1 just hit the stands. This is a cool horror comic book from Marvel Comics.

Wanda is living in Paris and often talks with the ghost of Agatha:

She has an interesting costume that she still wears in public:

I love the artwork when she performs her magic:

I'm really digging this first issue and can't wait until the next one.
