McDonald's Bumblebee 2010

I broke down and bought a Happy Meal last night and managed to get Bumblebee. He is number three in McDonald's Transformers 2010 line. His left arm and waist both move but his head does not. A blue projectile can be launched from his right arm. Instead of pressing a button on the back to launch the projectile, his door wings are pulled back.

Grab Bag Comics Coming

The only shopping that I did on Black Friday 2010 was to purchase a hundred Dark Horse and independent grab bag comics at Things From Another World. Thy are usually fifty cents for each comic but they were on sale for ten cents. Unfortunately, I missed out on the DC and Marvel grab bag comics. You can be sure that I will be posting about the ones that I do get here.

Green Lantern Presents Hostess Glo Balls

Hostess Glo Balls was a limited edition of their Sno Balls, which are chocolate cakes with creamy fillings that are covered with marshmallow and coconut. To be honest, I do not remember ever trying the regular versions before. After eating one, I remember why I erased any past experiences with the Sno Balls from my mind. The Glo Balls have just a tiny hint of coconut and were drier than the whole state of Arizona. This was the only box of the limited edition series that I picked up at the local Super Wally World since it took me a month to finish them.

The Green Lantern action figure did not come with the box and was found several years ago at a local thrift store. If these were made back in the 1970s and 19980s, then the box would have had a trading card on them and I might have picked up the other cakes in the series.

Thrift Store Find: Mystery Fantasy Figurine

This mystery fantasy figurine was in the same fifty cent bag that Buttercup, Captain America, Green Arrow and Wolverine was in. I know that the character looks familiar and my sister was quick to say Link. The back of the hat is flat and there are red ribbon on the sides. The outfit is green and yellow dress with white arms and legs. The bottom corner of the right sleeve has been damaged. The mystery fantasy figurine has a sword half drawn strapped to its back. The scabbard is black with a yellow tip. The only wording on the bottom is "CLAMP et al" and "China". I feel like I should know the name of the character but I just can't think of it and my searching is turning up nothing.

Thrift Store Find: Buttercup

I have not watched the Powerpuff Girls cartoon series for a long time since my family found them annoying. My favorite has always been Buttercup so I was pleasantly surprise to find her at a local thrift store last week. She was in the same fifty cent bag along with Captain America, Green Arrow and Wolverine. The bottom green part of Buttercup's eyes lights up by pressing a button on the back on her head. The figure is from the 2002 Burger King set.

Thrift Store Find: McDonald's Marvel Heroes Wolverine

Wolverine stopped hanging out at McDonald's because they made him child proof his pop out claws. I found him at a local thrift store last week hanging out in a bag with other Happy Meal toys. I like his blue and yellow uniform even if he can no longer stab a McRib.

Thrift Store Find: Mystery Batman Figure

I went to the local thrift stores yesterday afternoon and found two bags of goodies for a dollar at one of them. One bag had a mystery Batman figure that had clear legs, chest, arms and lower face. His boots, shorts, chest bat symbol, gloves and crowl are all black while the utility belt is yellow. The body, arms and legs appear to have grooves in the back with strips of gray paint. He stands at 4 1/4" tall and the only markings are "TM & @ DC" on the bottom of the cape. The bottom has two holes that are obviously used to attach a base with pegs to it since the mystery Batman figure does not stand on his own. I spent most of last night trying to find out what he is called or what item he was originally attached to but my search turned up blank. If anyone has a clue to what this mystery Batman figure is, then please leave a comment or contact me via email.

Marvel Heroes Wristbands

These Marvel Heroes wristbands were found in the same vending machine that I found the Marvel Heroes Heads that I posted about yesterday. There are twelve in a set but I only have two. The first has eleven characters from Marvel Comics while the second only has Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America. They are too small for my wrists but they can be attached to phones, mp3 players and portable game consoles. The wristband is made out of soft cloth-like material.

Marvel Heroes Heads

Only two local stores still have vending machines filled with candy and toys. One of them has Marvel Heroes Heads for seventy-five cents each and there are six in a set. There are two different sets: ones with bodies and ones without. I first got the Hulk and thought he was an antennae ball until I noticed that the plastic wrapper was made to come off. The head pops apart so you can imagine my surprise when the Captain America and Iron Man Marvel Heroes Heads that I got on my second trip rattled. I then decided that I should actually read the display sign that tells exactly what the vending machine is selling. My third visit found me getting Thor with a body and Wolverine without a body. I am only missing Spider-Man but I am currently out of quarters.
