Women Wednesday Bonus: Wonder Woman Vs Medusa

From Wonder Woman #600 comes this pinup from Ivan Reis, Oclair Albert and Rod Reis (click for larger image):

Women Wednesday: Wonder Woman's New Costume

I first seen Wonder Woman's new costume at Amazon Princess last night before rushing to read the in-depth article at DC Universe: The Source. The redesign was done by Jim Lee and I like the red top with the blue jacket. I really do not like the leggings and footwear. She needs her red and white boots back. The wristbands do look cool though.

Superman #700 Wallpaper

I liked this scene of the Man of Steel kissing Lois Lane so much from Superman #700 that I just had to make it my current desktop wallpaper:

The Last Airbender: Appa And Momo Launcher

The second toy from McDonald's The Last Airbender Happy Meal series is the Appa and Momo laucher (the former is the big six-legged Sky Bison while the latter is the small lemur). This also came with a trading card but mine was a little warped. The back has the following text:

"Air Nomad. Appa is the only known living Sky Bison, a mystical creature from the Air Nation. App helps Aang and his friends on their quest by flying them on his back."

Here are some pictures of the Appa and Momo launcher with trading card:

The Last Airbender: Aang With Glider

McDonald's Happy Meal currently has toys from The Last Airbender, a live action movie based on Avatar: The Last Airbender cartoon. I was lucky to get the first toy, which was Aang with glider. There are twelve toys in the set but I doubt that I get them all since I don't eat that many Happy Meals. Aang's arms move up and down but he is a cool figure without the two part glider that looks more like a folding fan. I was surprised that the toy also came with a trading card. The back has the following text:

"Air Nomad. Aang was frozen in ice for over 100 years before he was found by Sokka and Katara. Aang is the Last Airbender and has the ability to control and bend the air around him."

Here are some pictures of Aang with glider and trading card:

Blog Alert: The Brave And The Bold: The Lost Issues

The Brave and the Bold: The Lost Issues is full of Batman teaming up with characters from various comic companies including DC Comics and Marvel Comics. Ross is the creative genius behind the great team ups. One of my favorites is the Dark Knight teaming up with the Sorcerer Supreme.

Moongem Comics Hit Forty-Five Thousand

Looks like the counter for Moongem Comics hit forty-five thousand sometime today. The top ten keyword phases this time around are the following:

black scorpion
superman with a blonde
wonder woman wrestling
alison angel touched by man
womenwrestling black vs withe
supergirl vs
elvira
where to find dr pepper iron man II cans
elvira mistress movie macabre
marvel women comic wrestling

I cannot believe that I am still getting visitors looking for Alison Angel. I would post more of her if I could her with more comic characters. I would find a Supergirl vs Elvira wrestling match to be interesting. So far that I know, no one has done a wrestling video featuring the Mistress of the Dark.

The answer to number eight is anywhere you can buy regular Dr Pepper cans. Unfortunately, the Iron Man 2 cans might all be gone by now since they were only available for a limited time.

Women Wrestling Wednesday: Ronald McDonald Vs Wonder Woman

With Happy Meals once again under fire and Wonder Woman #600 coming out this month, this wrestling video seems appropriate:

Elvira Returns To TV In 2010

Halloween news is coming early this year for I found this entry from Elvira's "B" Log:

"It's official! Elvira's Movie Macabre will be making it's return to television this Fall with all NEW episodes! All dates, times, and channels are TBA later this summer. The show is syndicated (national) so times & channels will depend on your area/market. Stay glued!"

Dr Pepper Cherry Iron Man 2 Box

Here are some pictures of the Dr Pepper Cherry twelve pack box promoting the Iron Man 2 movie that I had (I won another X-Box Live theme from the code found within):

While there are still plenty of Iron Man 2 toys at the local Wally World, the Dr Pepper boxes are almost all gone (not surprisingly is that there are still plenty of Diet Dr Pepper, which I have not yet bought).

Women Wednesday Bonus: Wonder Woman #600

Wonder Woman #600 features a cover by George Perez and is dedicated for Jang-chub Ozer of Wondertrash, who reminded me that this month finds her series reverting back to the original numbering thanks to all of the postcards that DC Comics received last year.

Women Wednesday: Batgirl And Supergirl

What is better than one sexy superheroine? Two superheroines, of course. Supergirl guest stars in Batgirl #14 when it hits the stores on September 8, 2010. She visits Stephanie Brown and the pair fights twenty-four black and white versions of Dracula. This cover by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau would make a cool poster.

Goodnight Al Williamson

The world lost another legendary artist when Al Williamson died on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the age of 79. He was best know for his Alex Raymond-like artwork on the Flash Gordon comic book series in the 1960s but he did so much more including working for EC Comics and Warren Publications.

Dr Pepper Cherry Iron Man 2 Collectible Can #8: Tony Stark Iron Man

I could not resist picking up a case of Dr Pepper Cherry this weekend so I could try my luck with the Iron Man 2 collectible can series. I ended up getting #8: Tony Stark Iron Man. I like how Tony is in black and white while Iron Man is in full color and looks ready to kick some serious butt. The Iron Man image is the same one used on the Dr Pepper Iron Man 2 bottle.

Thrift Store Find: Two Batman Comics And One Dragon Magazine

Only two of the usual three thrift stores were open this morning. I found three items at the first place and I almost picked up something from the second place but decided against it. I found Batman #442 (December 1989) and Detective Comics #610 (January 1990) for fifty cents each. I have the first issue but not the second. In addition, I also found Best of Dragon vol. III (July 1983) for two dollars in case I ever play Dungeons & Dragons again.

The item that I passed up on was a tattered copy of Gold Key's Adam-12 since they wanted $1.50 for it. I might pick it up next week if it is still there.

GaF Double-Vue Presents Captain America Fights The Sleeper

The GaF Double-Vue cartoon of Captain America was called "Fights The Sleeper" and was a very condensed version of 1966 Marvel Super Heroes episode of "The Sleeper Shall Come". That episode was based on Tales of Suspense #72 (December 1965) from Marvel Comics. Tonight was the first time that I actually watched that episode.

Emma Frost Vampire

I am not a die hard fan of the X-Men but the teaser image for X-men #1 (July 2010) caught my attention. It appears that Emma Frost aka White Queen will be a vampire having her way with Scott Summers aka Cyclops. This would make a killer poster and I wonder if this will be how Marvel Comics will be celebrating Halloween this year.

Blog Alert: Amazon Princess

If you enjoy Wonder Woman in all her glory (and who doesn't since she is the number one superheroine from DC Comics), then you really need to check out Amazon Princess. The blog was started by Darius, who also runs Aventures in Nerdliness (check this blog out too), but there are five other contributors. You will find posts about Wonder Woman action figures, art, cosplay, merchandise, tv series and various other topics at Amazon Princess.
